I am having trouble working out a design for the snake temple.

Image

I do not think I want the weathered metal look through out.

Maybe put that reddish trim on the upper floor, and use a green tint for the lower trim. Then you'd have color coordinated transluscent walls, if desired

Unless the red rocks are something special that makes that location unique. Like they contain a certain rare and desired ore, or are magical in some way. If they are just supposed to be a color accent, the contrast for an outdoor location is pretty stark. When you look at real exposed rocks, they tend to be very muted in their color changes and all of them look weathered and dull to some extent (i.e. liberal use of dry brush etc.)

Perhaps the red rocks are radioactive and have given the troll some extra mutant powers. If the characters try to figure out why the troll was immune to fire and could also breathe fire (aka godzilla), they might figure out that something that spends their growing years next to these special rocks mutates! Now you can keep the red rocks and build another story around them!

Nice work realarete :)

We agree that toning down the read would look better, though pretty darn good already :)

Wow some impressive pictures in this thread and forums! I'm a DF noob, but got in on the CD KS, managed to pick up a basic dungeon set and the Mountian set here on site ...

Initial scheme for a wet/moldy Gnoll Den ... a couple gnolls basking into the dankness. Hoping it will serve as a general dank dungeon look.

Wow— just saw this— best lava I have seen. Well done!!
Thanks! They were fun to paint. Kind of got carried away on the mods, but happy with the results. Was going to do more/similar mods for regular cavern paint scheme but holding off now that we have new sculpts on the horizon.
