Fantastic job of taking the KS6 terrain tray-stilts concept to the next level.

Kitenerd, Riley, NiandoBG, & Bossman, I really appreciate your thoughts and comments.

Personally, I consider this project to be derived from ideas that Stefan and the Forge pioneered. If they were to take inspiration from anything I've done, I would consider it a compliment, and the smile plastered to my face would be reward enough.

There's a Big Star song that comes to mind:
"Thank you, friends
Wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you
I'm so grateful
For all the things you helped me do
All the ladies and gentlemen
Who made this all so probable
Thank you, friends
I rejoice up to the skies
Dear ones like you, the best I do
As far as can see my eyes
All you ladies and gentlemen
Who made this all so probable
Without my friends I got chaos
I'm off in a bead of light.
Without my friends I'm swept up high by the wind
Thank you, friends (thank you, again)"

WOW - these are gorgeous and very well thought out and created.

Too much love and labor in these for you to ever market and sell them.

I could totally see "licensing" the idea to DF - with posts of dwarvenite and terrain tray like metal bits this set could be reasonable and very popular

Really love the woodlands setup - they are all great but that one really shines

Wow...!!! :o :o :o
Congrats for idea and realisation and of course thanks for sharing
That’s could be the next big thing. Sell your idea to DF.
I would like to see it in on of their next KS. :P
John D,

Very nice!

I hope DF cribs your idea (since you don’t want to produce them). Slopes are definitely something I want to be able to do, especially with outdoors set ups- and your posts are a great solution.

Zenako, Oldent, Unclebilly, Animesensei, & Hunter_something, Thank you for your kind words and inspiration.

Animesensei, honestly I never want to do this again. I need to get the paintbrush back in hand! ;)

You mentioned using a couple different strength magnets - are the stronger ones in the base, the weaker ones on the tops? (for the angled pieces)

Any chance you could post a close-up of where the ramped terrain meets the level terrain?
The Ramps have the strong magnet on top (the angled end) to prevent them from 'sliding'. The weaker magnets (they're ceramic by the way) are really just there to add a bit of grip if the table gets bumped or something. Take a look at this again-

There's 8 magnets (4 strong/4 weak) all working together in this clump, and the posts themselves are back to back. It's surprisingly solid.

As for the occasional 'lip' where the slope meets the ground, sometimes it's noticeable, sometimes it's perfect. Even when it is noticeable, I'm not bothered by it - Gaps happen. Here's some early experiments

In this section the doorways mask the seam altogether

This is an 8" slope (since the lava pieces are all 4"x4")

I was testing the resin lava with some unpainted dwarvenite caverns from KS2
