Thanks, I totally missed this post.
I always wondered how well real PVC glue would work.
I'll need to get a can. Too cool... thanks again. :D

Sewer floors, PVC Glue & a hacksaw

Post by Dolken » Mon Mar 14, 2016 5:46 am

Sewer floors come as 1x1 and 2x1 tiles, and if you put together a large room using sewers you will find it takes a lot of little sewer floors ...

Using a pvc glue, small clamp, a flat piece of wood, rubber band, a toothpick, and a hacksaw you can make bigger floors.

This is how i layout the tiles to build a strong hold.

Clamp the tile next to the wood and hacksaw about a 1/16 to 1/18 of an inch down the side of the tile.

Here is the layout after the sawing. Note i scuffed the top of the tile with the blade but that will be fixed with the glue during gluing.

Put pvc glue on the hack sawing side and push together and place a rubber band around them to hold them together. Use a toothpick to push the extra glue around the sawed area. The pvc glue works by melting the pvc softening all the hard edges the sawing caused and can be used to fix the scuffed top in the above image.

Note you don't have to do the sawing but i do to make the grid more pronounced after gluing as the sides can melt together hiding the edges of the glued tiles.

And you can make as big of a floor as you want by this method.

I hope this helps someone. :)
