Once everything was dried, I painting it up to match KS3/KS4 stone buildings. Below are pictures of the finished piece, using some of the KS4 post items (skellys, gargoyles, etc.)

Tower Cupola

Post by Archimagus » Sun Jul 09, 2017 12:33 am

I purchased a tower cupola from Thomarillion. Problem is its too small to fit on DF buildings, 8 x 8 cm. While the DF standard is 4x4 inches. Below you can see the cupola on a 4x4 KS4 platform and can see the size problem.

So I cut a piece of styrene 4x4 inches and then added a strip along the edges 1/4 inch thick styrene.

I then added a thin coating of milliput along the edges, shaping it to resemble stonework.

To support some post holes, I added a piece of 1/4th styrene in each corner.

I then added a thick coat of milliput to the top of the ledge all way around, shaping like stone and filling in any gaps. Once dried, I drilled some holes for placing post items from KS4.
