Erinthor Mountains full encounter vs Individual Mountain Packs

Post by Grimmy » Sun Oct 27, 2019 2:10 am

Hey guys,
I have my eye on Erinthor Mountains but I started looking at the individual components separately because I really don’t need the elemental.

Doing it this way I would end up with a lot more elevation pedestals though, and less floors.

Any thoughts? Still versatile?

I would not want to give up the 4x4 Mountain Ground tiles.

Also you could easily sell the Elemental.

Bloody forums update lost our reply to this

It was particularly insightful and useful
hard to believe we know.

k-bear is right those floors are useful and the elemental we would expect to be easily sold, though we bet you'd keep him ;)

But if the component packs give you what you think you need and come in cheaper then go for it.

What we would say is if you can afford to go full Erinthor then do it :)
The mountains are incredibly useful, even it is just to add some bedrock to dungeon or castle etc

I find lots of uses for the whole Mountain set, either as parts of mountains or cliffs or to add contour and features to a castle location. They can also just be features on an otherwise mostly flat encounter location, providing some simple elevation to make fights more 3D.

I also love my two sets of mountains. I use them a lot, indoor as well as outdoor, though mostly outdoor.

I understand the attraction of the chase pieces here, too. I still sometimes think of getting the Imperial Streets lion even though I absolutely do not need any more streets.

We might need more streets once we populate our table with a complete DF build for a competitive W40K game or 2 following our first attempt without streets.

We do like using our Rock elementals, especially when they get attacked by sonic weapons :D

Depends how long you blow that horn.

Don't think they are very animated, the boulder and pebble ones we have created tend to just lay there groaning quietly, feeling sorry for themselves.
