Sometimes you need to build how it should have looked than how it does (or did) look.

There should always be a level of cool or wow you can include to make the players remember the game.

'Remember Reg when we played with that really big castle'
'Sure do Fred that was a fabulous build'

Or something along those lines

Such an incredible build! Even the deviations you made from the original structure seem to enhance (rather than subtract from) the aesthetic, IMO.

Or with enough "random" encounters, it could be like the castle in Monty Python that always seems to be just out of reach...until it is not! OF course one of the tower windows must have the Blue Curtains insert :-O

Would be funny to have it looming in the distance with a promise of the big boss fight taking place either in or on it, to then have them not go anywhere near it, leaving them languishing in Dungeons of Doom! .... oh wait ........

That is certainly something one can aspire to build!! Awesome! I am not sure how my players would react if they showed and I had a structure like that looming for them on the gaming table!

If you do visit Harlech try to approach it from the North (heading south) the sea has receded over the last few hundred years and the main road in is at sea level and the Castle dominates the approach on a big crag of rock which used to have the sea surrounding the North and West faces - in the event of a siege it could be resupplied from the sea.

From the outset for both CBS and Castles I was not concerned with interiors as a wargamer. Whilst I might use them for narrative RPG game play for war gaming I did not envisage using the interiors.
Any interior play would be done open topped.
I did look at how I could reproduce the interiors and quickly decided no - though the gatehouse interiors could be used especially with roof platforms to support the floors and more double posts to connect all the floors in place of the single ones used I think I can create some large rooms.

See now I am thinking I could create a barracks and throne room - all I need is a throne maybe some cool dais and some weapon racks, where could I get some of those in dwarvenite ....... hmmmmm.........

I also backed the Terrain Crate KS which had some good interior items for barracks such as cots etc. So maybe in the future I could pimp out the interior.

Amazing Build. Wow, that's a lot of dwarvenite.
Do you have the layout of inside that entry building? It would be even cooler if it matched the interior too.
