Thanks for sharing that pic. Those have a nice look and probably don't shed leaves in the fall. Even I can't complain to have something paper like that for easy storage and lighter weight allowing for a higher quantity. If DF found a way, I'd still do that, but I'm going to look into these.Vegomatic wrote: ↑Sun May 07, 2017 6:35 pmFat Dragon has paper model trees that you can put figures in.

Re: Tree Sets
YaRrrr !! They are made of the same stuff as a WoTC mini. If you sign up for their email you can get 25% off any purchases. Here is a picture of one beside a reaper mini. They also sell them unpainted if you want to paint your own. I got the ones that where from the first KS on some of them I had to glue the arm(tree limb) back on but it was worth the discount to me. The arm branch sticking out is the one I had to re glue.William wrote: ↑Sun May 07, 2017 6:15 pmLike your new "look" U.B. - Yo-Ho-Hounclebilly wrote: ↑Sun May 07, 2017 11:37 amI used these. Yea I know they are not grand looking but they are more parctical for RPGing. You can put minis on them and they fold up for easy storage and transportation. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/wo ... -table-top
For looks I also have some of these. https://www.dungeoncrawler.com/store/in ... er=product![]()
Question on the second link. It says "Massive", but has no size stated. Could you let us know how tall and what diameter the canopy is? You gotta love sites that say "View larger" and when you click it's 1 micron bigger.
Is it Resin, Plastic, Rubber - what??? Lastly, how is the detail and what are the leaf clusters like? Solid or?
Those fold-able trees would be nice in a gaming sense, but I'm looking for a bit more for 'my' use.
Thanks, Bill (also called U.B.)![]()

Thanks for sharing that one Oldent. I would agree with both of you to an extent. A single tree holding a small village probably isn't a good fit for DF. I plan to make one myself, but I am envisioning more a pseudo-nomadic wood elf tribe, so simple structures largely meant for sleeping in aside from maybe one larger community building. The rest of their living space would be outside in the tree. I was also thinking it wouldn't be hard to make two levels accessible, one on top with full access and the lower one accessible to a shallow depth from the sides. The top area would be a bit smaller in diameter than the layer below to facilitate access below. I could see DF making something with interconnected treetops as has also been discussed, but much as I think I would enjoy such a set I'm not sure if there would be enough demand for DF to make it.Oldent wrote: ↑Sun May 07, 2017 1:12 pm
"I don't think it is realistic to think of an entire playable village in a single terrain-tree."
I don't think it realistic for Dwarven Forge to make one. I remember one Mary Lee made 15 or 20 years ago.I do not know if I can find the photo. I will look.
1999 I think
Were they to try to do this, that could allow for making smaller bases without jacking up shipping. As jackattack has noted, you would need some spread on the base, but adding centralized weight can reduce the amount of spread needed to counteract tip over. You couldn't get away with zero, but reducing it a bit would make it easier to pack and ship, as well as to make molds for.
