Whenever we visited family near Houston, they reminded us to be cautious around dem ants. Ain't like the merely annoying ones in New England.

Nice to see the size comparison.

(but your title immediately gave me a visceral reaction)

Off topic a bit- Where I’ve lived or traveled (Texas, Carolinas, Georgia, Florida)... fire ants are public enemy number one. In Texas I once found a trail of them - they had come in through concrete / brick foundation of house, through the drywall, up the wall, onto the bed of my then three year old daughter- while she was in the bad for a nap.

Stings are very very painful...

Fire ant sculpts of fire ant nest

Hi DF Fans,

I got today my unpainted Fire Ant Nest from the DoD portfolio.

At the website you only see a rough sketch of the Fire ant workers.
Therefore I made a picture.
If someone else is interested to know what they look like, have a look at the picture.

I‘m very happy with them. Very cool sculpts. They look almost like real :!:
They remember me about my childhood. I collected insects put them in ethyl alcohol and classified them with books about insects...
