I want some columns so Encounter 1 and add-ons is the way for me.

I'm in for $10 / 'build your own' Dungeon. Why? I already went in for 10+ sets in KS1, plus I don't like the columned tiles. I'd rather spend $10 to be able to buy just the specific add-ons that I want, with no waste, than spend $82 on pieces I don't want or need.
That was my thinking :)
Yes, this is a smart strategy for many people. Although it won't hurt to consider Dungeon Level II, which (for someone who doesn't hate the columned tiles) gets a small selection of the new stuff with some stretch goals, and hopefully plenty of room for add-ons later.

Here is a pledge planner spreadsheet that could help if you decide to try comparing a couple of possible purchases:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing

You have to download it to enter data. If you don't have spreadsheet software and do have a google account you can upload it to google drive and open it in google sheets from there.
Oh. My. Gods. Vegomatic, thank you! That spread sheet is fantastic!

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. You gave me some confidence that I'm not reading this wrong. I need to cut back from KS4 so the goal is around $1500...but you know :) Below is what I am currently looking at with the knowledge that future add-ons will ruin this plan! I could give up the white marble daises for other add-ons.

Pledge Total: $ 1546

The shipping destination will be within the United States.
Main Pledge

1 X Build Your Own Dungeon ($10)

Encounter Areas and Add-ons

1 X 6. Acid Bath - Expertly Hand Painted ($178)
1 X 8. Puzzle Floor Room - Expertly Hand Painted ($192)
1 X 10. The Menagerie - Expertly Hand Painted ($120)
1 X 13. Lava Bridge - Expertly Hand Painted ($949)
1 X Double Doors - Expertly Hand Painted ($23)
1 X Straight Daises (Marble Ltd Ed) - Expertly Hand Painted ($50)
1 X Curved Daises (Marble Ltd Ed) - Expertly Hand Painted ($24)

Point(s) well taken but the reason I'm considering my own "build" is because the first dungeon I'm really interested in is the 6th one, Acid Bath. And I really want Lava Bridge (#13) so I'd add a couple more then an add-on or two, and bingo, I get the ones I want. Is there any reason to avoid this strategy?
I have piles of KS1/2, so looking at something similar to above - Lava Bridge for sure and add-ons galore. Just debating between L1 or L2 for core of alcove style tiles.
