Oh Jeez, I think I just discovered I'm addicted- reading all your posts. I can't wait until the KS V stuff arrives... I find myself perusing other sets I never even considered before... now I have three sets of caverns in the mail as we speak... and Lava paint- just in anticipation of the KS V arrival. I got it bad.

So I've been having a blast, painting like mad my 2 Hamlet sets +accessories and lots of battlements. I can't believe I ignored these sets thinking I would never use them. I'm working on city streets now, and I'm staring at the impressive lion monument with no idea how to paint this bad boy. I've searched the forum and looked at the painted version, but still stumped. Any ideas? I have a full set of Pokorny paints now. 'Cause, you know...addict.
I use Runeweavers excellent and relatively easy painting method for metallics:

http://dwarvenforge.com/forum/viewtopic ... ax#p106125

in my experience it is less of a drybrush than a dry buff - normally you want the irregular application of a dry brush and overworking it ruins the effect - with the metallics just keep the brush real dry and keep polishing until the "metal" looks worn and burnished - sort of magic to watch happen

have fun!

Here is a mod you can also do with that lion and pedestal.
I bronzed mine then added some blue/green patina then added some ink tones.

Good luck, it's easy. Just go for it. ;)

Thanks very much for the advice dice4hire. I was stuck thinking of using just the standard paints. I'll look for some brass paint!

I never got a lion, but a friend of mine did. He simply drybrushed a brass or gold paint on the statue and it looks great. Less gold or brass to match what you want to see. I would start very light and go over it again and again until it looks how you want it. Maybe do a very light drybrush of green on parts of the lion last if you want it to look really old.

I think it should be pretty easy.
