If you do not need fire your players must be very different from mine.....
They tend to play heroes who would put out huge fires not start them, or at least try not to start them.

But I do need fires, bars and curtains just not a hundred of each, but a hundred open and closed shutter I do wish for.

Ok maybe it's time to come clean.

We are a positive clan of bunnies and we thrive on positivity, so negativity really gets to us, especially with a new DF KS.
They show all these cool new carrots that we can now pledge for, but then come the awkward questions, the suggestions that come across as blatant 'I wants' the 'They should do this' and 'why dont they do that', but you have all this cool new carrots to rave over.

WHY CANT YOU ALL JUST BE HAPPY!?

But then we remember the Matrix and us all being happy is not a realistic scenario.

But you know what?

Why not ask the awkward questions, why not make suggestions, who gave DF the magic beans that makes all their ideas the best?
It's a freeish world where we are free to ask, suggest and come across as a pain in the ass, it is clear we come across like that too.

We love this forum for it's passion and (mostly) reasoned criticism and arguments.

So we have to get off our high horse and realise that just because we think it don't make it right, and even if we write it down does not make it fact.

We are all entitled to our opinions and they should not illicit mindless criticism. Sometimes it can take a while to see another's point of view. We can be very guilty of that, so apologies for any condescending posts.

Whilst we still see them as rewards we will try to curb our emotion when someone is obviously wrong......no...... sorry ....when someone offers a different outlook 😀

Now where is that whale music?

Btw you can never have too much fire.

It is important to remember the one persons chase piece or really needed piece is not another persons. DF is not going to see 5,000 different priorities as something they can have the factory fulfill. Do I wish in the KS I could get unlimited quantities of some peices, sure but I do not expect it.

example I really want every window in my village to have open or closed shutters but I do not need tons of iron bars, curtains or fire.

There can never be enough fire.

While I don't like the idea of chase pieces, I am in the camp that does feel they do encourage people to have higher pledges, especially when many of us are at saturation levels. I hate to say it, but I doubt I would have backed for a full DoD level of money if I could just get the new pieces for 1/4 the cost and not get bread and butter pieces.

While I like the idea of accessibility, I think if you make the pieces too easy to collect with breakouts for a wide variety of pieces that can be purchased separately, the KS will have less dollars pledged and also creates a logistical nightmare for the number of SKUs they need to stock. That's one of the reasons for the decline in resin sets and the fact they started just doing sets with no breakout pieces eventually. Having a room and passage set, and then 10 different SKUs for the pieces in those sets caused too much bloat. It's easier just to stock a complete set.

I doubt the KS comments for KS6 will be very negative. I didn't notice much negativity with KS5 although admittedly I didn't follow it that closely.

Wow. that escalated quickly.
Nah, I'm just making good-humored jokes about perception :)

No ill-will or escalation intended on my end. :)
Theft, death, and injury are good humored?

I just hope the KS comments doesn't go too negative this time around - have faith in DF people, look what they have given us?! It is the Golden Age of table-top gaming terrain - rejoice! :D
