Looking at the first pictures on this thread, you can see the glitter on the top of the wall of force. Anyone tried a clear coat? Gloss or matte?

Unpacked my Encounters 1-6 last night. Pretty happy with everything so far, and the kids are loving it! Glad I got mostly painted for this portion. Only had one encounter with any missing bits.

The factory paint job is about what I expected, maybe a bit better than Castles overall. Certainly not in the same league as what I could do myself taking sufficient time, but good tabletop quality with the exception of a few pieces. A few could use some touchup - some arches could do with a little extra Stone Edge (yeah, those portcullis ones in particular.) More bothersome are a few pillars which got too much - it's more work to repaint them Red and then blend with the Stone Edge. Not sure if there are enough problem ones that I'll bother, might just call that the dustier, less traveled part of the dungeon and let it be.

I like the Passage walls more than expected! I think the user experience with these will vary depending on whether you got magnets - the magnetic floors grab them and make a nice solid 3-piece corridor unit. Very satisfying. Much less fiddly than building, say, Sewers.
I can see how it may feel fiddly arranging them around Terrain Trays in a full-on negative space build like Acid Bath, and it's a shame you can't just pickup the whole room when doing that. Might want to prebuild those on another surface.

Absolutely love the one Terrain Tray we got so far. Wish I had my other 7!

The magnetic freestanding corner walls, I do see a little noticeable bending on 3 out of the 8. Not enough to break the build by any means, but does create some tiny gaps. Probably fixable. Ironically, the "extra" ones in my Deadly Corners box were more square than the ones in the Lever Chamber box.

The Glitterwalls... sigh. Such a gorgeous and functional sculpt, I don't think it needed the embellishment. You can probably get all of it off with a little water, a fingernail, and some time if you want. Do it outdoors!

Now, where am I going to store all of this? The kids would suggest just leaving it out full time on the table I think.
Thanks for the feedback geekjeff! Hearing that not ALL free standing corners are warped is a good sign. I didn't get any of the passes as I had concerns like others as to how they would work. I will continue to see reports from others before buying. Thing is, I didn't get any magnet pieces nor do I plan to retrofit all I have it's just too much work. My hope is the free standing walls are stable enough for negative space builds using 2d battlemats like the paizo flip mats as I like to use those but adding walls make it look so much better.

As to the glitter; I do think that it will make the piece look cooler but it needs to be sealed somehow or no one will want to touch it. Hopefully the testors laquer will do the trick. Will report back when I get mine. (Did all add on's though so will be a while)

Retrofitting the magnets, I wonder if they will be as strong without the little dwarvenite well that helps anchor the magnet to the piece. Has anyone tried this yet?

FYI all my LED pieces are fine and very bright, overall very impressed with the design and quality by DF.

My only constructive feedback so far is somewhat uneven drybrushing and pernicious glitter.

I may wind up selling my KS 1 pieces (or retrofit them with magnets). KS V pieces are like Dwarvenite 2.0.

Hearing some of the fit, scale and paint issues is disappointing. This being said it's alot of product so I don't think you can expect perfect. The last 2 KS's have had at least one big thing I didn't like so might be the case on this one too.

We are all DF fans so none of us want to see them lose business or not succeed but I also think with the money we spend it's reasonable to expect good QA on basic stuff. Its not like this is cheap terrain:)

Hopefully some of the issues are intermittent and not on everyone's orders.
That's exactly how I feel. I support DF and I want them to succeed. But I'm also a customer and this is an expensive product - it's not unreasonable to hold their feet to the fire for issues like this.

Packing errors are not really DF's faultt even though they reflect badly on DF and cost them a ton of money breaking out sets and sending out random pieces.

I really enjoyed buying DF by the pound at Gencon last year. All those pieces came from retail boxes that they had to break open to send out replacements. A good way to get some money for them, but too bad they could not have gotten full retail for them.

I really hope the LED pieces are better in KSV with all the LED problems in KSIV with buttons recessing into the piece due to poor interior support. If so, then DF is doing better.

I also hope all of KSV is one dwarvenite color as KSIV was not that way. Again, easy to show improvement.

Pretty much no Dwarvenite G is improvement in my mind. I understand totally why the boxes and spears d\could not be regular dwarvenite.

There are plenty of ways to see improvement here in my mind.
