really it is just a failed perception check to notice...

I have a spider that builds across my sidewalk from the garage to a tree (10' or more span - not sure how she does it) - everytime i head down toward the yard i get a face full of web - it is completely invisible
I think she's trying to trap you... "Just a little more web next time and that Slaad is mine..."
Its thinking ... "if I can pull this off just once I will eat like a king for the rest of my life"

Magical spiders...hmmm......
Yes that should go into my next game. One or two innate spell like abilities plus “web dropping”. When my players howl I will tell them to direct all complaints to the nearest rabbit. That should confuse them.

Well, in game terms many systems allow spiders to project/shoot webs. If the spider is above you the web will drop on you.

Games are not the real world, and spiders don't work the same between them. So yeah, being a bit picky. 😀
So its magic!
Well that's ok then :D

It’s bad enough when you have to cross a large span of water when exploring a cavern. It really sucks when a giant spider drops a big web on you right before you reach the other side!
No wanting to be picky .......but......
How does any spider 'drop' a web ?

Is it magic ?
Or is it like a youth expression ?
- did you see that build that Law dropped on the forum

There is a moth hunting spider that swings a blob of web material for the moth to fly into. Not come across a web dropper.

Here's something I was playing around with a few days ago that shows two trays side-by-side and some DoD terrain.
