fyi, combs1ng, if it will help you, I will send you my black and white marble stickers in the mail. I only have one set worth, but I am going to use the runes with mine, so I don't need the black and white.

Any one consider trading/selling with other backers? Not everyone is going to want checker boards for their tiles. I've got a few that I'm willing to part with.
Unless I specifically state that my information is directly from Valoria, my comments are just my own opinions.

You can just buy black/white marble stickers and cut them to size?

Here's some 1/2" wide washi tape that would probably work? (Though I note I haven't tried it myself -- did someone in the thread mention the tile dimensions?)

Sounds to me like DF should just stock a bag of tiles and stickers in the store.
I'd buy a few of these expansions, particularly if I can come up with a way to use the patterns.

Yeah, I'll just wait to see what DF does at this point. I do like the idea of stocking just stickers and a bag of tiles, though I still feel I shouldn't have to pay extra to get the chessboard I thought I was getting.

Buying the puzzle tiles add-on will probably be as cost effective for DF. See what they decide to do.

Maybe I'm missing something. But can't you just paint normal tiles to create a chess board? Why use the puzzle floors for that?
Flexibility without using permanently using up regular floor tiles.

I've seen some attempts at painting checkerboard colors onto dwarven forge floors and frankly, I've never liked it. But, with the floor tiles, you have clear, crisp lines for the squares and you can always flip the tiles for something else when you don't want checkerboard.
