Yea falling over is one of the main things. That and I just like the look of the round black base.

I take it you are tired of them falling over like old metal minis from the 70s.

Personally, I always wished that minis had a small base that could click into a larger base. That way you could use them with small bases for tight dungeon rooms or click them into the larger bases for stability or versions of D&D were area of occupation is needed.
