We have been using coins to weight our plastic GW bases - we use putty to weight slotta bases.

One finds a metallic washer size that is just large enough (in the case cited above) that it is bigger than most 25mm figure bases. Glue all figs to these washers. Mount figures in a drawer with magnetic strip. If you want larger, more fall-over-proof bases, use a piece of stiff magnet cut to the right size, you can get this for free by collecting free refrigerator magnets. Doesn't matter whatn's on them b/c you are going tgo have the black magnet side up anyway.

I just go with large enough washers to make the figures stable - in the rare case where I have to crowd I just overlap the bases, but it almost never happens.

I have been using washers for quite some time. They are cheaper than the plastic bases, very stable, and I can also use them to base trees that would fall over easily with plastic bases. I haven't used magnetic material with them for much of anything yet, but it has always been an option (just not one I've exercised so far, but my minis seldom travel).

As much as I like the DF minis I would much prefer if they came on a base like the ones WizKids uses.
I take it you are tired of them falling over like old metal minis from the 70s.

Personally, I always wished that minis had a small base that could click into a larger base. That way you could use them with small bases for tight dungeon rooms or click them into the larger bases for stability or versions of D&D were area of occupation is needed.

We link from Flickr and use preview to make sure we got the right image.
We often edit posts refreshing preview many times without any issues.

Image links have been working fine, it's only been the attachments that have given me issues.

Yeah, a post with dozens of pics (and with the current pic problems on the forums) and loads of frustration.

I would not mind a bit of a linkfest to your old mod posts.
Funny thing is I have been posting pics direct to the forum (attachments) for weeks and img image links for the last few days from photobucket and imgur and I have zero errors even when I go back to fix my horrible grammar and spelling.

Having now typed the above in, I expect nothing to work on this forum for me ever again. It is unwise to taunt the deities of internet functions. ;)

I'm just the opposite. If they could stand without bases at all, I would be a happy gammer.

My next post will send me into the M-Lord realm, it'll have to be a good one.
Hmmm, what to do?
An epic build with all your Dwarven Forge! Or at least all the pieces you have modified.
