Ok just took a trip to thunderbolt city !

Apologies if you have read this on another forum post but bear with us.

We realise that all the 8x8 (we assume its the same for 4x4 too but at work so cannot verify) that you can use CBS posts to raise them up and then someone pointed out you can use CBS wall in between your posts creating a building.

Or .... if you had Mountain, Dungeon and Cavern CBS walls you can create cliffs and therefore some easy walkways and a multitude of easy elevation builds
Walls could be sculpted and therefore textured to be Dungeon walls (though probably similar to stone CBS walls) or Mountain walls to give you easy cliff faces and for KSVI Cavern walls.

But you could go next level and have mined walls, ruined walls, led walls, themed walls Dwarf, Drow etc.
You could combine a mined cliff wall with some magnetic scaffolding and lift mechanism ..... just don't delve too deep....

+ 34 to new CBS style walls for Mountain, Dungeon and Caverns

From box at top of page below header - click on the 'here' above.

The one in next line does not work it's just an example.
......................................................................More forum instructions are here.

I usually save as .jpg and the file size is fairly small, so 680 max. either direction works usually.

With the puzzles i discovered that the forum is less fussy about pixel dimension than it is about file size. By lowering the quality from max to good ( jpg setting when saving in photoshop) i was able to post much larger images than i thought possible.

Tried Imgur. I'm not getting something. Could not drop images there - they wouldn't take.

Can't find my resizing instructions.

Damn.

I think the levels discusion is interesting. I will add some comments latter. I am late for game night.

I want to lobby for a PVC version of the old log bridge.

I made 24 4 by 4 inch lava tiles for Massive darkness. I also like to use backdrops and facides to create illusions of height.

One problem with the level system I didn't foresee (because I can't mentally project from 2d to 3d and don't think that way) was that all multilevel sets have to be built from the bottom up...the reverse of the way the script runs, in most cases.

I have a set of standard table map forms I put in plastic. I can plan the surface - or whatever layer the adventure starts on - and then figure out which plate is above/below and build the next layer accordingly.

It is not tremendously fussy. I just need to be sure all the terrain pieces will fit more or less, but the planning aids make that possible.

Tall objects (anything taller than standard DwF height caverns or dungeons) either lay down in negative space next to the place they go, or have a small Post-It note on the set with a number, keyed to the working table beneath Fly Table #2. I just go find that number and put the terrain piece in when the PC arrive.

Usually don't put monsters down ahead of time, and place them in the manner above, except I have a 20-deep set of cardboard grocery boxes, about 4" deep, numbered 1-20, which I use to store monsters. I usually only have one or as many as there are levels, although the one game we did on BOTH fly boards, 4 deep, I used IIRC twelve monster boxes.
