Perhaps they will consider an overlay (like the grid) with a whirl pool printed on it... then you have a modular one that can be used with *anything*. Any tray, tiles, mat... It could even be a magical swirl on a dungeon floor!

So what will KSVI bring to the table ?

Murky water with a whirlpool
Murky water with a 'white lies beneath' ripple
rough stone
just plain rock
a stream ?!
Dirt?
I am sure there will be some water looking similar to the old water tiles.
Whirlpools, I doubt, because this would restrict building the whirlpool to a certain point on the tray and decrease modularity.
The others - - seem plausible.
And of course: the darkest black for bottomless holes

Ok so terrain trays are a gimme for KSVI

but what terrain will they be - we already have stone, water, Lava and Acid.
So what will KSVI bring to the table ?

rough stone
just plain rock
a stream ?!
Dirt?

I'm not sure that's much of a rumour, I'm pretty sure they've openly said a couple of times that the terrain trays proved to be popular and would be returning.

But a good thing to have reiterated all the same.

Got a confirmation from Chuck today that magnets will be a part of KSVI. And I am spreading a rumor that they may also be making new terrain trays too...

Some comments on other threads got me thinking about how magnets could be used in KSVI. Caverns have limited opportunity man/kobold made objects like signs or mounted heads but it would be wonderful to have ledges that could be stuck to the sides of elevation blocks. The opportunities for lurking monsters and hidden treasure would be endless. Rare earth magnets have amazing holding power so magnets alone would probably support a 28mm figure but if needs be pegs would work too.
That's what I'm talking about! +10

I have seen ledges like these in caves that have had variable water levels over the millennia. Fortunately or unfortunately none of them had goblins with short bows on them but they were sturdy enough to support the weight of a man.
