They put five in underdoom. Not sure why not 4 or 6 and sell them in 2 or 3 packs.

I was hoping to be able to just get a couple for use in my dungeons (one side is cavern, the other dungeon!), but I don't need five.

Yeah - i am with you on the James Kirk thing

Would make a cool encounter room to have two of them and go in one and out the other - i love stuff that obliterates the battle lines and allows enemies to out flank you and then you to get behind them in the same way

I see James Kirk watching history scroll by as he's getting ready to jump through. ;)

I wonder why they are not marked as being LED. Weird oversight, but hey, we humans are nothing if not oops-prone when super busy. 😀

I really like the piece for the sense of mystery it evokes. In my minds eye, I see them in interesting and unexpected places.
Standing alone atop a small island made of bank pieces in water or frozen cavern lake.
On a dais.
On a high, narrow ledge.
Riding a slowly moving driftstone. Amid ancient ruins.
A circle of them on a hill.
Frozen inside ice (will it fit inside the larger ice wall?).
In a row of alcoves.
Hanging upside down from the cavern ceiling.
Across the middle of a bridge blocking the way.
In a temple.
On top of a wizards tower.
As the walls at the bottom of a 30’ pit.
Almost any part of the sewers. (The waste is flowing into that strange portal the party might need to pass through).

The possibilities are great.

If they offer this piece in “regular” paint, i need 4 people to split it with

I’d love one or two but 5 ???

Each gateway is in fact a standalone LED piece, the central section lights up. We saw it in the Underdoom reveal. That's the entire point of the piece. I'm guessing the high price is because of LED and on top of that, the translucent section has to be separately cast and the two put together?
