Working on some variants for my DHF. A real PITA to cut, as my scroll saw doesn’t have wide enough clearance. Just about trashed my hobby hand saw, but I managed to not cut off any fingers.

Will use Green Stuff to cover the scars - sculpt a combo of rocks and moss/foliage/plants.

Will do a water & moss filled hollow trunk here. This one was easier as it mostly popped off along the mold line.

@GG: I did the twist, bend and pull, plus a bit of exacto knife work underneath along the seam. My edges are a bit rough, but should be easy to get them cleaned up.

I plan on trying to fix this and your post has been a great help. How did you "work" the two molds apart? Just by using your hands and twisting and pulling? Or ...
That's what I did and it popped off fairly clean. Now I can slip the two together and they stay firm. ;)
Thanks William! Now I just need DF to release a painting guide for the mushrooms so I cant try to match the factory paint.

The medium set is also two pieces, but I don't think it needs separating.

Hi Paracat! I recently was un-warping some of my painted vile mushrooms and noticed the issue you pointed out in regards to the Large Mushroom Piece. Apparently the factory painters also struggled to paint the middle section of such a crowded piece. It seems a bit of an oversight to not paint the 2 molds separately and then glue them together, but oh well.

I plan on trying to fix this and your post has been a great help. How did you "work" the two molds apart? Just by using your hands and twisting and pulling? Or did you have to cut using an Exacto knife or something?

Thanks!

before I cut something up, that is.

Large mushroom piece is so crowded that there would be no way to get into the middle of the bunch in order to paint those interior sides.

So, as it is a two piece cast, I worked them apart. Will do a bit of cleanup on the edges, but I now have some more options on placement, and can do full justice in painting the sculpts.

From what we have seen so far of MOAM, we are looking forward to geting ours.

Expecting to have a chaos tainted mushroom grotto in our forest early next year :)

When I saw the vile mushrooms in person, I was greatly happy with my decision to order the poisonous plants set from the Pathfinder preorder. They look like they’ll work together. And they’ll make great additions to the forest.
We did the same and ordered the poisonous plants for the same reason.

We have a GW boxset somewhere with a whole bunch of alien carniverous plants, which we are thinking of painting up to be compatible with DFs poisonous plants. Combined with CD shrooms and MOAM it will be deadly ........
