I did try to make mine more colorful. The DF tiles are pretty bland overall, as seen in some of the banks pictures being put up now. That is not really a shot at DF as they have to paint untold thousands of pieces and a simpler paint scheme is best.

Also, of course I do not think I have enough painting talent to exactly match the DF paint job even if I tried.

Looks cool. I like that your paint scheme offers a lot of differentiation compared to the prepainted pieces. Looks almost as it would be different tiles.

Looks good! My only critique is some of the rocks need a little more drybrushing to bring out their texture. I really like the bramble walls.

Yeah, repetition is a big problem with buying too many of too few sculpts of DF. I love the recent banks pics, but there is not enough variation for it.

Very nice work d4h :)

The big advantage with painting your own is the opportunity to provide colour variation between the same tile types, which help break up repetition.

With DH repetition becomes an issue as it is supposed to be natural and as such repetition is hard to find. That is the problem often with modular tabletop terrain.

Thorn walls done.

The larger floor tile is DF prepaint, the smaller one is mine.

Sorry bottom for long banks. Cannot edit old post, or afraid to edit a post with pics.

I did fix mine up a bit today

Darkened them up a bit and fixed the colors a bit. The drybrush at the end was a bit too jarring for me.
