That looks FANTASTIC. The bridge is a real highlight - not only the bridge but the road and bricks like you said.

I’m doing some KS buildings in the woods later today. Very excited to see how it looks. I was planning to use those brick sidewalk tiles to fill the gaps in the grid.

Depends if you store your Epix Haven in the original packaging, then it takes about a minute as that packaging is snug and some of the best we have ever seen for miniature tabletop gaming.

We have ours prebuilt on shelves in our game room so we can deploy in less than 5 seconds :D

Looks pretty good to me. :)
You are correct about the brick/forest work/looking better than stone/forest.

Hey z those streets and pavements are looking pretty sweet, almost Romanesque
Much better than we anticipated - nice job on th build too adding the Lava bridge and other DoD details to your CBS village :)

Liking the Epix Haven free standing tower mixed in too :D
Yup, get tired at times of nothing but orthogonal DF structures so I grab the tower for a change of pace. Also, it does not require assembly and can quickly appear on the map.

It's not an efficient use of pieces, but I imagine if the DH tiles were all elevated by one tile, and then the transition to non-woods was a bank tile that basically sloped down to the stone or whatever, it would look better. But even still, it looks pretty good! Certainly better than anything we could do before. I agree some fences or low walls would work great for a park or something.

The water in this case are DF Terrain Trays. I have 4x6 woods style mat underneath, but it ended up hard to spot.

Was looking to create something like a grand entrance like the old southern plantations that had entrance roads lined with massive trees. At first I had more of the clear forest tiles between the road and forest tiles and that did not look so good. Lots of dead space.

DH Forest with City Tiles and CBS

Post by zenako » Fri Jan 24, 2020 6:42 pm

I pulled out the streets and bricks and CBS and mingled them with the DH Forest tiles to see how it looks. When you are butting up bricks to green, it is ok, since that makes sense, but when you are butting up to other terrain to the forest, the sharp demarcation is jarring. Perhaps using small fences or other man made features to break the flow would make this better. Enjoy, it was fun making things fit, but when you have enough, multiples of 6 can match multiples of 4 or 8 when needed.
