Amazing what come out of just fiddling with pieces - nice work NBG :)

Not seen the Dock trick yet, something you think "well that's obvious" once you see it, but beforehand it just eludes you.

Maybe we should have got more, especially as for the wooden sculpts we bought unpainted as even with our ham pawed painting we can do brown :)

Like how usable the logs from the suspension bridge are, and with Wildlands its looks like there will be more options :)

Ah, that explains it, I did not get encounter 2 (just 5, 8,9 and 15) in KS6. always a few nice things in each encounter, but sometimes not enough to make me pull the trigger.

Cool, one thing Nate did the other night was take two of the docks and remove any pilings from one side of each and then using some spare pins he had join the two docks side by side to make a 4x4 platform. That platform could even support a City house on it making it a swamp house on stilts kind of thing.
That‘s quite cool.
Maybe I need a second dock set?

Where is the set of logs/door? you are using on the last few shots as a makeshift roof from? It almost looks like one of the parts in the secret weapon mine set.
The roof/door is from KS 6 as well. E.g. part of Encounter 2.

You managed a good level of weathering on the wood pilings without going too hard on the lightness. Nice job.
Yeah, that’s always difficult. I found out that Karak Stone from Games Workshop work, quite well for me. It is not to bright but you get some highlights.

I wanted to try something else for the wooden bride. I used additionally a terra-cotta drybrush step.

Cool pieces, but I couldn’t justify the prices for basically sticks and twine. Not knocking DF sculptors, but looking at my skillset, and I’d rather pay the bucks for stuff I cannot replicate/construct myself.

I agree that combining the two docks into a single platform was a great tweak.

Playing around with KS docks, double doors and wooden bridge

Post by NiandoBG » Sat Apr 04, 2020 11:01 am

Hi DF folks,

I painted my wooden KS 6 parts recently. During drying time I started to play a little around with them and thought about different use cases.

That‘s what I came into my mind.

I like theses pieces a lot. They are really cool.
Even if the price for the docks is a little bit high IMO.
