So backing yourself to paint wood period3 ?

To be fair its a good shout, we just painted a bunch of Terrain Crate book shelves and wood is a fairly simple process - base brown, shade, highlight with light brown.
Hmmm we may consider getting our first unpainted dwarvenite ..... thanks period3 :D

Caverns starter pack ×2 = $148
Core pack Encounter 3 = $155
Core pack Encounter 11= $295
Entrance riser = $45
Stairway to violence = $58
Natural bridge pack =$46
Stalagmite pack = $40

Total of $787 my goal is less then $800
Am I crazy or missing something? I feel like this is a good mix for someone starting into caverns. Should I be looking at essentials packs for a better start?
That looks good but maybe add a doors pack??

Thanks for the help, William and Phoenix! It's looking like I might be able to get everything I need from the current KS now. Still a debate going on in my head...

If it's two, then I would go with the Varied Walls and Floors set and the Floor pack. Basic has one more standard 2x2 floor, but with the floor pack you're covered. I just like the different mix of corners and walls in the Varied set..

I'm looking at one of each of the KS2 Basic, Varied, Assortment, and Floor packs. There's no right answer there - they're each decent sets. Perhaps start at the beginning and work your way through?

I am interested in picking up perhaps 2 KS2 sets to give me base pieces to start with (unpainted). Which 2 (or so) sets would you recommend that would get me some basics while allowing me to use them for basic encounters between now and when KS6 arrives? They have the Basic Cavern Set, the Varied Walls and Floors set, the Cavern Assortment set, the Floor pack, and the Lava set. Or if you have other ideas, I’m open to suggestion.
