I'll just confirm, officially, what y'all have figured out here. (And what I guess Jenney has already confirmed in the Codex.)

Total Stumps in Dreadhollow Encounter: Large = 7, Small = 14
(Large: 2x Heavy Forest Floor Tiles = 2 Lg. Stumps,
3x Light Forest Floor Tiles = 3 Lg. Stumps,
1x Large Stump Patch = 1 Lg. Stump,
1x Cave Mouth Escarpment = 1 Lg. Stump)
(Small: 2x Heavy Forest Floor Tiles= 4 Sm. Stumps,
3x Light Forest Floor Tiles = 3 Sm. Stumps,
1x Sm. Stump Patch = 1 Sm. Stump,
2x Long Stump Patch = 2 Sm. Stumps,
4x Straight Escarpment = 4 Sm. Stumps)

Total Trees: Large = 5, Small = 8
(Large: 2x Large Tree Pack = 4 Lg. Trees, 1x Gnarled Tree = 1 Lg. Tree)
(Small: 2x Small Tree Packs = 8 Sm. Trees)

Total Stump Toppers: Large = 4, Small = 7
(Large: 2x Large Tree Pack = 2 Lg. Toppers,
1x Cave Mouth Pack = 1 Lg. Topper,
1x Scatter Pack = 1 Lg. Topper)
(Small: 2x Small Tree Packs = 4 Sm. Toppers,
1x Cave Mouth Pack = 1 Sm. Topper,
1x Scatter Pack = 2 Sm. Toppers)

Total Trees + Toppers: Large = 9, Small =15

So with the encounter you get enough things to cover all your stumps, plus two extra Large-diameter things and one extra small one.

Rabbit, I think the stump topper counts are actually 7 small and 4 large. 1 large stump topper with each large tree pack, cave mouth and scatter, and 2 small stump toppers with each small tree pack and scatter pack, plus 1 with the cave mouth.
That's is totally correct Droopy - thanks :)
*sigh - yesterday clearly was NOT a clear thinking day :(

But at least you still get enough trees and toppers for all the stumps :)

I agree, 7 small and 4 large for the "toppers". Rabbit i did not factor in the Large Gnarly Tree into my numbers at all ... since I dont know what it is completely  other than something really cool!

But 21 total tree stumps in a full DH encounter and 23 things (trees and toppers) to place on them. Plus the gnarly tree thing which seems as though it will be a "large tree"-style, but a bit more wild and dark .... perfect!

50% leafy tree coverage is correct, youll get 12 trees (8 small/4 large) to place on the 21 stump locations ... PLUS the large gnarled tree SG. The rest will be toppers.

Rabbit, I think your count on the heavy tiles is wrong. Looking at the graphic, it appears that each heavy tile only has three stumps, 2 small and 1 large, not 2 small and 2 large as you noted.
Your right - just cross ref'd with the walkthrough video 'Thank you Doom' and thank you Droopy (and realarete) :)

so now our interpretation of DreadHollow is ....

Heavy Forest contains 2 tiles with 2 Small and 1 Large stumps each (total of 4 Small and 2 Large stumps) AND a single tile containing 1 Small and 1 Large stump giving a total of 3 tiles and 5 Small and 3 Large stumps.

Light Forest contains 2 tiles with 1 large and 1 Small stumps each and then 2 3x3 and 3 6x3 tiles with no stumps, giving a total of 2 Small and 2 Large stumps.

The encounter as a whole contains:
Heavy Forest - 5S 3L
Light Forest - 2S 2L
Scatter - 2S 1L
Cave Mouth - 1S 1L
Escarpment - 4S

So the whole Encounter has - 14S and 7L tree stumps
The Encounter gives you 8S and 4L trees AND 1L Gnarly tree (cave mouth SG)

So the Encounter gives you over 50% tree coverage
The encounter also gives you 6 Small and 5 Large toppers leaving 3 spare Large Toppers - realarete are you counting the Large Gnarly Tree SG on the Cave mouth? or are we wrong? (again)

So that's enough Trees and Toppers to cover all stumps.

The above data is obtained from the encounter graphics with help from Doom and Droopy.

If in doubt check out the Codex Valoria KS6 - Thanks Jenny :)

I went with 2 scatter sets, and thinking I'll get 1 set of small toppers and 1 set of large toppers to go with. I already have a number of other stand-alone scatter trees, so I'm hoping this works reasonably well.

In summary there are 14 small stumps to build on, and 7 Large stumps to build on .. In a full DH encounter.

7 small toppers, and 8 small trees are provided.
4 large toppers and 4 large trees are provided.

21 stumps to build on, 23 things to place on them. ( note im just counting the tree "tops" as a final placement object finishing the tree, ofc there are trunks and mid sections as well .. ) But a full encounter will have all the stumps covered either by leafy trees or toppers with 2 to spare.

For the "stump toppers" Im counting -

4 Large ( 1 from Scatter pack, 1 from each Heavy forest pack ( so 2 ), and 1 from Cave Mouth pack.

7 Small toppers ( 2 from each Light Forest Pack ( so 4), 1 from Cave Mouth Pack, 2 from Scatter Pack.

Also the Heavy Forest Tiles I think have 2 small and 1 large stumps , not 2 and 2 ... the stump next to the one on the rock isnt a tree placement by the looks of it. So the total tree "spots" would be 14 small and 7 large for the entire encounter. This excludes the Hollow stump and the spirit tree.

Further... looking at the encounter definition itself...

The forest encounter comes with:
2 Heavy Cover Forest Floors (3 stumps each) 1 big, 2 small
3 Medium Cover Forest Floors (2 stumps each) 1 big, 1 small
1 Forest Scatter Terrain (3 stumps) 1 big, 2 small
1 Cave Mouth (2 stumps) 1 big, 1 small
1 Escarptment Pack (I think it has 1 small stump per Straight Escarpment so 4 small)

So... I am thinking... 7 large stumps, 15 small stumps.

Tree Packs that come with the encounter...
2 Small - (4 trunks, 10 leafy parts, 2 toppers each)
2 Large - (2 trunks, 6 leafy parts, 1 topper each)

Depending on how you distribute your leafy parts... Lets suppose you only wants leafs on trunks. That would be 4 large and 8 small trees. So about 50% coverage.

You can distribute the leafy parts to make more shorter trees and bushes which is what they have done with the encounter if you look at the photos closely.

:)
Veg we read the tree contents of Dreadhollow as follows:

Heavy Forest contains 2 tiles with 2 Small and 2 Large stumps each (total of 4 Small and 4 Large stumps) AND a single tile containing 1 Small and 1 Large stump giving a total of 3 tiles and 5 Small and 5 Large stumps.

Light Forest contains 2 tiles with 1 large and 1 Small stumps each and then 2 3x3 and 3 6x3 tiles with no stumps, giving a total of 2 Small and 2 Large stumps.

The encounter as a whole contains:
Heavy Forest - 5S 5L
Light Forest - 2S 2L
Scatter - 2S 1L
Cave Mouth - 1S 1L
Escarpment - 4S

So the whole Encounter has - 14S and 9L tree stumps
The Encounter gives you 8S and 4L trees AND 1L Gnarly tree (cave mouth SG)

So the Encounter gives you just over 50% tree coverage
The encounter also gives you 6 Small and 5 Large toppers.

So that's enough Trees and Toppers to cover all stumps.

The above data is obtained from the encounter graphics.
