@Rabbit- luckily this is only one quarter of my paint /craft /clutter table (4’x10’) and is for painting minis.

DF gets done on the opposite diagonal quarter.

Wow that is some setup you must have, pictures ? or rather more pictures ?

Thinking about it we have two paint areas, the games room where our airbrush lives and when there are no builds then we can paint big terrain projects.

Then we have a corner of the main living space with paints and modelling tools so that when sat down for the evening watching TV etc we can put a tray on our lap and start painting minis. We have a true sunlight lamp and a variety of magnifying glasses. Not ideal, but pretty good and we are in company with family bunnies and can paint most evenings which means we are slowly getting through our backlog

Perhaps a new thread for DooFer painting setups?

Feels like this should go here, I don't THINK it's already in this thread. One of the bigger hints, teases and beans we've seen, I'd say!

To my weak old-man eyes it looks like free-standing bare trees on the existing banks? It ALMOST looks like confirmation of two pieces of speculation: (1) that KS7 will include swamps; and (2) that swamps will be comprised of mostly terrain trays, banks, and scatter terrain.

It may also be just a quickie use of some bare free-standing trees to create a mangrove-like environment, more improvized than anything else. Heck, those trees may have even been placed upside-down. Instead of mangrove-like swamp roots, those could just be garden-variety tree branches.

Hmmmmmm......

That does indeed definitely look like swamps and new bank pieces, at least one with a tree trunk. Probably two, one corner and one straight. And unfortunately a terrain tray.mat in the foreground instead of new water tiles. It does look good, but fortunately skippable for me. At least this small part.
Yep. Terrain trays and negative space equals easy will save vs purchase for me.

3d sculpted water tile expansion? $2000+ sold!

And swamps opens the door for some minor expansions to CBS (stilts, decrepit shacks, etc.) that work in other contexts as well!

seriously. Swamps are definitely a wildland that I would/will overspend on. Really curious to see how DF deals with 3D swamp terrain. I am all for mangroves and things that can be free placed on terrain trays, but would also like some sort of swampy 3D aspects, banks, overhangs with concave space underneath them. Swamps are an easy addition for me, esp. with fog monster 2 coming out soon.

This is exactly what I'm looking for now. Dreadhollow was terrific but coverage is expensive with just tiles. Moving towards more scatter terrain-like builds on printed maps is just where I want to go. I love using the Dreadhollow (and Erinthor) as scatter to give a map some lift.

Definitely Mangrove trees and new banks in that picture :)

We were told last year that Wildlands would have a lot of scatter terrain.

Wildlands is going to be exciting and wallet melting.
This is really good news, since I'm not into Dreadhollow at all...some swamp scatter terrain, sure.
