4x4 is my favorite size, which is why I like city builder so much. 2x2 is fine as filler in places, but the bulk of my layouts are 4x4.

The larger pieces does seem to be Nate's tendency, unfortunately. He also seems to more of a diorama guy than playable guy. I did a combat in the forest last night and there were a lot of squares where minis could not stand up well or at all. Seeing the squares was not too hard s o DF did that well, but a bit more attention to placing minis would be nice.

I admit they are beautiful, but they do limit builds. I would vastly prefer smaller pieces as smaller pieces would let me do more things.

Sometimes large pieces are nice to set up quickly though.
For some of the outdoor stuff, I am completely happy to receive larger pieces in 4" or 8". Please chalk up this whole 6" x 6" crap as a mistake and go to 8" for things you can't do in 4".

OR... give us a bunch of good 2" and 1" tiles to offset those 6" and 3" mistakes. Nine 2" x 2" to work around the 6" x 6" is better than four 3" x 3".

I did a sketch. Sent it in to DF via FB messenger. We'll see if it's something they like. They could also do variants, like with rocks, a part in the falls to allow for a cool cave entrance, etc.

While the other ones we've discussed are interesting, they require a lot of molds and materials. This could be done with less. However, it does require you to have pieces (or something else) behind the falls to hold the tab in place.
I like it a lot. Nicely layed out.

It was a fun sculpt, but has absolutely no modularity. :?
Who cares it is AWESOME!!!!

I would buy this in a heartbeat
Agreed, I'd buy at least two. The only thing I could think that would make it "better" would be to have the sides line up with Cavern Walls instead of being sculpted all the way around.

This is in the 3X3 style base. This could be done in the escarpment measurements so that the banks would fit.

Yesss!

That looks like a promising first crack at a design. One thing that might be an issue for them is embedding the tab in the middle like that, but that should not be insurmountable. Also this would give them the chance to make the falls out of a clear material that they paint (the Tab could have a blue color coating to blend better). Far easier to use clear if all you are casting is "water". Nice sketch.
