Concrete boats have a long and noble history:

Kind of need a steel keel for best results. Concrete is only good in compression.

Yup, just think about it. A concrete canoe can work with the right dimensions and depth. Might not be that maneuverable, but it will "float".

I mean just look at this...

Physics is phun.
It's Fizziks, well it was in high school. ;)
I think it was because he was also the chemistry teacher.

Seriously though - it is not about weight - it is about displacement!

I toured the USS IOWA (retired battleship) years ago and was struck by the fact that it weighs 45,000 tons... think about that for a second... 90,000,000 pounds of steel and it FLOATS!!!! Physics is more magic than any arcane crap you could dream up - we live in a magical world my friends

That being said i doubt the DF boat will float ;)
The Iowa class don't exactly WEIGH 45ktonnes. They DISPLACE that much. Yeah, the difference is technical, but it can matter.
My Dad was in charge of the preservation crew on the USS Missouri (ship where Japan signed the WW2 surrender). I got to crawl all over the empty ship for several years- had my 9th birthday party in the warrant officer mess. Really fascinating. And don't forget, her rated speed was 33 knots...38 miles per hour. And her ACTUAL speed, all ahead forward emergency, just out of a yard period, was over 36 knots...41.4 mph. 90,000,000 pounds of steel at major boulevard speeds. She could outrun some destroyers of the period.

Grew up around the sea my whole life till I moved to midwest. Miss it.

DF boat will float if it displaces enough!

What's even more impressive is a Boeing 747-8 passenger airliner, has a maximum 'takeoff weight' of 487.5 tons. That's just short of a million pounds....................and it gets off the ground. :o
I marvel at this everytime i take off - i "get" flight - i understand small airplanes - but, man, when you get to the big jets, it simply defies my comprehension - it is amazing what a crap ton of thrust can accomplish!!!
Don’t forget the wing shape... ;)

seriously...we’re talking about floating dwarvenite?

what’s next?

mad is right...
are there playable surfaces inside the sub? - is it gridded for combat - i need one of these

In the world of W40K this is begging to be Orkified and looted :)

Lots of potential mad modding options especially as it looks like you can separate the top half.
