So pretty convinced using Light panels will make your builds 'pop'.

Interested in what else could use underlighting - suppose anything can be 'magical' :)

As to cost in the future, typically technology like this either gets cheaper or more functional.
Though there maybe an initial cost bump when they hit the Store being bespoke to DF.
We fully expect to see almost waver thin light strips in the future.

I'm in a similar boat as many others here. I'm very interested in the light panels and hope they totally rock. And I'm expecting that I'll probably pay more to get them later.

But, my budget is tapped out on 6.66 to just get what I feel are the essentials for my needs (magma rivers & banks, plus cool accessories) while keeping some in reserve for KS7. So I'll be eagerly watching from the sidelines. I really hope to see them in person sometime soon so I can make an informed decision for the future.

I really hope KSVII uses the light panels so the people getting them now can get more use out of them.

I hope DF can keep making the pieces compelling lit or not.

I am not getting any panels though.

I am getting the light panels I have a feeling that they are going to come in use for KS7 and may cost more on the web page or even during KS7.

I chose not to get them, though I still sad about that. The cost is just too much for me with everything else (Hellscape, Wildlands, Plaguestone, Upcoming Bones KS, Christmas, etc.)

Thanks for the replies. I'm leaning towards getting them but it will be a barn burner till the end.

Hm,

I decided to add some panels to my pledge.

Pros:
- hellscape looks cooler with it
- filters in Circle 2 & 3 are less exciting w/o them
- I often build upfront 3x3 feet and „fly this in“.
- we can use them as 8x8 floor tiles.
- I want to support DF for their innovative idea
- IMO there is a high likelihood that they will have a huge pricing mark up in retail or won‘t be offered if the demand is not as expected => buy it now or never..

Cons:
- new technology might may be different than expected/promised (e.g. edge lightning)
- only US plugs (Adapter for other countries shall work...)
- takes more time to build
- quite expensive => no budget left over for e.g. river mega pack...
- Till today we have only a very limited number of uses cases for the light panels

Maybe that helps to decide... :?:

combs1ng we went through similar questions and decided that creating a build with LED panels is going to be a pain.

We like the idea of dynamic builds where the lava floe can creep across the table, not easy to do with LED panels.

We also realised that our lava rivers were likely to be built on top of existing terrain.

Having said all that if we had the funds we would have got a set as they will look amazing.

Now that we are close to closing out the PM I can't decide whether to get light panels or not. Has anything come to light (pun intended) over the last couple weeks in favor of or arguably against getting them. To provide a little perspective, main components of my order are:
-Mega banks
-Mega Lava river
-Core lava pieces
-Many more addons basically allowing me to recreate Soulcage Vault with added variability.

I see arguments for both. The pro argument is obviously that the lava lights up beautifully. The possible cons are that even 7 panels will not be enough to light up a long lava river (as mentioned in an earlier post) with other lava terrain strewn about, and frankly are there better alternatives? I checked a few mentioned alternatives in the previous posts and I like the idea of putting down a plate of glass with lights underneath but... IDK,just torn here! Any further advice would help - not trying to beat a dead horse here

A side topic but related - the current PM has a copy/paste error - description for a single light panel actually states you get five panels.
