Q: What's the difference between pledging for the "First Circle of Hell" and "Build your own hell + Encounter 1"? The price is different but looks like the total pieces are the same.
A: They are exactly the same part-wise, but the First Circle of Hell pledge level is cheaper that the “build your own” + Encounter 1. And don’t worry, you can add add-on packs to any pledge level… you don’t have to be at the ‘build your own’ to choose multiple add-ons.

Re: Encounter 1 - THE CRUCIBLE CHAMBER
Q: Does the first circle of hell pledge level have a 8x8 footprint so you can slide a light panel under it ? Its doesn't look like it , but it can be hard to tell from the picture we have now. Seems a missed opportunity if you can't slide one under and have it covered up.
A:(Jeff) The one 8x8 light panel pack hits the 3 Lava Core 4x4 elements in the encounter as built. You’d need another panel if you wanted to try illuminating everything. You’re right, the 4x4 curved corner would have some light panel sticking out of the curve. You’d need to mask it with cloth/construction paper/etc.
The total footprint is 12x10 including the passage entrance. A tiny bit wider than 12 actually, with the slight overhang from the cascading pool corners.
This overhead crop is where you’d want the light panel, for maximum glowy effect.
