Q: Have the new 6x6 floor forest tiles still 4 magnets in the corner?

A: Yes there will be magnets in each of the 4 corners.

Q: I know we had issues with the Dreadhollow Forest banks and the magnets' polarities opposing each other when placed next to each other. Are the new banks having the magnets placed more towards the center of the piece, or at least farther away than the KS6 banks were (in the corners) to help with this problem?

A: YES! We are moving the magnets on the banks in about ¼” to help avoid this. Thank you for flagging it

Q: During the initial stream yesterday Nate and Tobi discussed shortly the position of the magnets on the bottom side of the escarpment pieces; they said that they will have three magnets. The Dreadhollow Forest escarpments have four magnets. One in each corner.

This design is very useful and well thought. It works very well with stilts. Especially because one stilt can share/support up to four different pieces. That is a big advantage for the complete stilt-system. I fear that you move away from this functionality with a three magnet approach. Can you please explain the advantages to use three instead of four magnets?

A: Please see Ep. 3 for Nates discussion on this. ... wX2KRa0rQ

But in summary (from what i could transcribe of Nate’s conversation) The original Dreadhollow were very square sculpts, so 4 magnets made a lot of sense. New escarpments are not clean perfect squares. Most of the time you would be stacking them not in square with the board and more off center, half off the base pieces, on angles, etc. The idea of one magnet at the middle was thought to support the whole center ridge as that was the protruding part of the escarpment. All things will be playtest and if the 3 magnets are not functional as we anticipate, then they will be modified.

Q: For missing magnets or if we want to add magnets to pieces what is the size that was used? I see a couple fell out. Are all the sets the same magnets?

A: (Chuck) most of them are 3mm thick and 6mm wide disc magnets

Q: Anyone know what the exact size of the magnets both small and large are that are used for DF pieces? I have some that came missing magnets, some that have lost their magnets, and I want to add magnets to my older stuff.

A: (Lady S) 6mm x 3mm and 12mm x 3mm is the size of our anchor magnets.

A: (Lady S) For older dwarvenite, you'll need thinner magnets. Old dungeons is 1mm and caverns I believe is 2mm. So unless your willing to drill a hole into the bottom of your pieces, you'll need multiple sizes.

A: (GeekJeff) For adding magnets to older pieces, Chuck also recommended taking a look at the MAGNETS! thread on the DF forum:
