Biggest dungeon ever

There, I said it. I put this thing together, with three huge levels, including an elevated terrain tray and all kinds of epic stairs. In the end, I looked back at it, and it was so BIG. So tall, it really amazed me. This thing was bigger than some of my castle builds!

As always, it evolved a bit over time. I swapped out some trapdoor pieces, I created a hallway for one epic stairs that had previously just descended into a large chamber, I introduced (and then shrank) a tiny little jade alcove, and I introduced a spike pit at the very end.

And now - a glut of photos sufficient to crash my laptop!


Some of these involve the Nolzur's minis I've been painting recently -- really happy with how they're coming out. Still a bit rusty on my painting skills, and still think the metals bear detail a bit better. But very happy with how they came out, for $2.50 figures.

A lot of these are repetitive, I know, but I play with lighting and time of day to see what kind of different effects I can get -- then I fall in love with all of them and can't pick a favorite. Sigh. I need an editor, I know.

I really like the dim light shots - the torchlight gives such atmosphere. And it makes the adventurers' situation really feel risky.

Ever since DF's first resin stairs put a little doorway underneath, I've loved that setup. Couldn't resist playing with door and stair placements here.

OK, I'm not a HUGE fan of distortive, "cinematic" lighting, but I have to admit -- this elf approaching some spooky red lighting in another chamber is one of my favorite shots.

As you can probably tell from the quantity of pics, this was a layout I truly loved. Just very busy and full of fun stuff. I got to make a big portal with the big arches, I got to make a round chamber for a mage, I got to make all kinds of funky stair and doorway areas. And I got to make a huge freaking dungeon. One bookshelf (the free-standing one) is Thomarillion. The squatter bookshelf against a stone wall and floor is Grendel resin, as is the big stone throne and desk.
