Very cool guys. 8-) 8-)

I guess I need to change a few of my green frogs to blue. ;)
Love all the custom 4x4 roofs on the second build NiandoBG.

I'm very close to finally posting on last months build.
Only a little more than a month late.

Hi DF-Fans,

here is my last minute entry.

My Thieves guild had some trouble in town and had to hide in a nearby abandoned Village.
They thought it would be a good idea to hide in the old ruined castle.

They can not believe there luck: some soldiers made their way through this forgotten village with chests full of tax revenue.

But just in this moments the true nature breaks through the ground in the courtyard.

What will happen next?
And who are the three persons in the old graveyard?

That looks awesome! Highlights for me:

The paint job on all the minis is spectacular. I like the tones and color choices, and the execution is obviously expert level.

I like the Hirst Arts columns supporting the floor.

I like the KS5 circular walls that drop off to the water below, combined with the epic stairs. Great centerpiece.

All around fantastic layout and great pics!

Alrighty! So this thieve's guild is almost blue collar. It is well known they occupy an old keep near the water in the docks district. They have the gall to row their ill gotten gain in by clear daylight! The guild is made up of humans, orcs and a few ogre-kin.

What they did not know is that the old keep is an old holy place for the goddess of the waters around it, and she has had enough of these thieves descerating her temple with 'loot' and 'plunder'. So she has gathered her minions and simply attacked the place, from the water.

The thieves are now fighting for the guild as they are being attacked by all matter of creatures with a blue glow.

I fully intended to do a build for this one, but I got caught up in, first, making pirate scenes, and now, a hurricane. :/

Mebbe next month. I considered submitting one of my pirate builds (pirates are thieves, after all) but that felt like cheating.

My problem is I have trouble coming up with anything for these contests because I usually just wait for inspiration to strike. “oh, I want to build a city with a big round tower in the middle,” or “hey, let’s make a fountain out of sewer corners and make it the center of the DoD round room.” If the design is suggested to me instead of brought to me by the muses, I get writers block and I can’t come up with anything good. :/

Loving all these builds! Sadly I likely will not get an entry in before the end of the month due to rl issues, but less sadly, it would never had stood up to all the other wonderful entries as a) I only have DoD and b) not all that much of it.

You guys are all a great source of inspiration though!

We interrupt this Dutch broadcast to bring you the following message  :

Get your August builds in asap! I'll post up a new thread for a September build this weekend!
Some of our best friends are Dutch
Well we say 'best' friends....
well maybe not exactly friends....
ok so they are foreigners we might have met at somepoint ok!?
So they might or might not have been from Dutchland* or the Netherlands or Holland.
They were at least European ....
we think....

* said that out loud and realised what it sounded like - sorry to our Dutch cousins
