the narrow passages (if you have such passages, they are not standard in AHQ.

In fact it doesn't suit with the basic box HeroQuest (try to put a fimir the gargoyle or a chaos warrior inside...)
It's a hell to manage the figurines inside sometimes but I always find a way ^^ in thin passage.

I plan on playing Blood Bowl! Gotta wait until AD BUILD 2 comes back in stock.

You know, with only a few extra pieces, you guys could make your own BB pitch!

Thanks for the replay. I own the normal heroquest, but i haven't got advanced. I'll search for the rules :-) I found a game called dungeon bash on boardgamegeek, they also play it on DF. Also there is a home made game called treasure quest, free and also played on DF. Haven't played one of them yet, but they look like fun. Anybody an other suggestion?

I was trying to use it with HeroQuest and Advanced HeroQuest, but had to see, that not a pieces worked for my case. The problem is, that many pieces, especially in corners, don't have a full field for a mini. So I had to drop the idea for a convention where I wanted to use the DF-AHQ combination. The pieces that work like a charm are the passage pieces (out of stock at the moment, I need several!) and corners, the narrow passages (if you have such passages, they are not standard in AHQ.

I looking for a Short Passage Set for that case - has anyone a set to spare?

For the ruleset: The Advanced HeroQuest is fast and fun, but long out of print. I like the simple campaign possibility based on Gold, so the players don't have to deal with a lot of experience stuff. If I am out to that I'd switch back to RPG ;-)

I read about some people playing heroquest and warhammer quest. Any other games that people are playing? (RPG, boardgame or something in between :-)). Any rulesets that are usable with DF?

Sounds great... I just picked up the DND player, dungeon master and monster guide to start playing the game a few weeks ago. But didn't really had time to dive into it. Therefore i found a quick starter guide that my help speed up things :-)

Does anyone also play a player versus player game using DF? Currently my game is about 2 teams trying to find a key and then get to the exit (a DF door).. Players chooce a team out of different characters (barbarian, elf scout, wizard, cleric, thief etc) which all have different stats like speed, strength and soms specials. For example, the barbarian my break a wall, the wizard can shoot fireballs in the line of sight and remove or create walls and the the thief can steel from characters (sound logical right?) and rotate rooms... Since she wizz isn't a fighter he has lower strenght stats than the barbarian. Since the thief is agile, he will be faster than the wizz and barb. The players will both start on a side of the board on a starting 2x2 DF floor tile and there will be a lot of counters placed on a grid of (not sure about this one how big it will be) about 6x6, made out of the 2x2 floor tile, 2x2 floor tile with one wall and 2x2 corner tile. When a player enters a room the counter is flipped and he can decide how to place the tile. At the start players also can place different counters with things like traps, monsters and weapons that will boost stats... and also both a key that has to be found by the other player. During the game players earn points killing things and negative points being killed. Escaping ends the game end gives bonus points.
My idea is to be able to play a cool looking game using my sets in a changing labyrinth, without using a DM... I'm curious what you thing about my idea :-)

Guys,

Maybe I've been GM'ing wrong the whole time. That sounds like what kind of D&D games I've been running from Day One, using 3rd Edition characters. Let the players build their characters, give 'em a mission, turn 'em loose, and see if they survive what I can throw at them as they wander through the DF environment I've laid out for them.
Sometimes there's enough murder, mayhem, and general danger to send Conan running for cover; sometimes Casper Milquetoast would fall asleep from boredom. it all depends on which way they turn, how the dice fall, and whether the players and I feel vicious that day. Or playful. Or intellectual. We had one game where they spent the entire game answering 20 Questions quizzes, practically every 100 feet. And another where they were fighting their way along one continuous corridor for over a mile; ONE guy got out of that one alive, out of a party of ten (NO, it wasn't Bonehead - he wasn't playing). And one game was a gigantic "Dallas" dream, where one of the gamers woke up in the shower the morning after, just like Bobby Ewing(Patrick Duffy's character).
You never know, do you?

We use to play a DDM varriant in a DF set-up. My warband against his, DF treasure items sprinkled throughout that would do special things like heal, or return a spell used, or give +1 to AC etc. when you grabbed them. Special objectives like "make it out alive" or "slaughter the other team" or "recover the holy greek vase" etc

Much more fun than playing on those stale old flat maps!

Maybe you know of games like Dungeon twister and Labyrinth... Games with mazes and stuff. I was wondering, does anybody play games like these using the DF pieces? If you look on the boardgamegeek.com website you can find a lot of terrains made to play a game with. Currently i'm also trying to create my own game using my rackham miniatures, the DF pieces and a lot of dice :-). Has anybody tried something like this before? What game did you play?
