Thanks for the very generous and kind words, guys. You guys really get me jazzed up to keep making new dioramas and sharing them with you. It really is nice to have an audience that has an appreciation for the effort that goes into creating these mini-worlds.

I really think that all of us DF fans and RPG fans are cut of a different cloth than so many others in this world - we have an imagination that inspires us to create fantastical realms and stories, and a yearning to free our minds beyond the mundane realm in which we all were born. Many look at our passion with a baffled and perplexed eye, wondering why we bother putting so much effort in what they perceive to be a silly waste of time or, worse yet, childish pursuits. They just don't get it and, likely, never will.

I salute all of you and am particularly grateful to DF for providing such an outstanding forum for us to share our passion with each other.

Amazing set up as always, thanks for the tour! Now I don't feel I'm the only one monopolizing the basememt for gaming. I showed the video to my wife, who very generously accepts my gaming hobby, and she was impressed (it garnered a "Sugoi!"). As she is a non native speaker I got to explain "merely tolerate" the hobby to her.

Always enjoy seeing Sorn set ups.
So many games, so little time.

Sorn,

my best bet for this new Set to come is the Sewer Set. You can find more "secret" info here.

My second guess is something that would in my mind also perfectly fit underneath your huge medieval town: a Medieval Street Set.

Great gaming basement. I need to make a video of my gaming basement some day.

Great video Sorn and the forest is superb. I managed to make it to the USA but not DC so will have to remain content with your video for now.

Sounds like we will be seeing sewers and a door set. Yippee!!!

Cheers

Stefan,

Thanks for the compliments. Alas, I feel fortunate enough that my wife allows me to monopolize most of the basement with my stuff. Attempting to redecorate the walls to be more gamer appropriate is unlikely to fly with my wife. And...as you know, happy wife, happy life!.

Many of you are fortunate enough to have a wife/gf that understands and perhaps even enjoys our hobby. On the other hand, some of you, I suspect, have wives like mine - they do not understand the hobby and merely tolerate it. With the former type of wife, I could transform my basement into an insane gamer-friendly tavern/dungeon setup perhaps approaching Monkplayer's awesome setup or that of the other amazing game rooms in Tom's "Gaming Room" thread. However, with the latter type of wife, I consider myself fortunate to have what I have.

Stefan's teaser about a new set that would be appropriate for underneath my city coming out this year is very, very exciting. Since this is the very first time I hear about this (I do not recall Stefan ever dropping such a hint before, though I may be wrong), I will take the rare opportunity here to be the very first DF forum fan to hazard a guess as to what the new set will be:

Either-
(1) a new wicked additions set that has sewer-type terrain OR
(2) an entirely new limited edition sewers set

If I were a betting man, my money would be on the first of the two I note above.

Irrespective of which, I will buy 6 sets, both because I am an addict and because I like supporting DF.

Sorn,

Awesome to behold! I now have a goal.....it is not unlike photo's I have seen of model railroad builders basements when I was young....I used to look at such basement setups in awe, and dream.......you have acheived the dream!
Love the Giant Arena (I have one too)

But, perhaps now you must dress up your rooms and passages (the real ones)in a medieval theme such as those seen on Tom's link...once acheived you would truly become the Overlord of Gaming dens.....

I have something coming for Christmas that will fit nicely underneath your city......

Thanks, Pusherman for the tip on the Really Useful Boxes. They allowed me to move my DF boxes into my storage room and opened up space in my city room for more DF/other terrain/models, etc.

The trees are from various different sources-

Most are from Woodland Scenics
Some are special trees I got from E-bay (i.e., handmade)
Some are from JTT
A few are from SceneMaster
