Dont think they line up well, not really designed for it, but would have been cool if they did somehow...maybe a stepped effect.
And yeah the paint job I would do for a sewer doesnt lend itself to both orientaions...really one or the other.
A new take on sewers...maybe.

I notices something like that when I was doing my build. The walls do look good laid flat.
It will take a certain paint job to make them not look odd that way.

That is a cool idea!
How well do the horizontal walls line up with sluices?
I mean if you were lay the walls down like you have them, but connected directly to a sluiceway? Perhaps a way to extend the sewers, or an alternate constructions method for a different part of town?

I like the narrow chamber at the north end - I think four inside corners flanking a ladder? Feels very sewer-y.

A new take on sewers...maybe.
As I was sorting and inventorying some of my sewers, I started playing around with the walls, and came up with this...
Main problem I see is in using the typical paint scheme, wouldnt really work if lower portions in normal vertical orientation were green, and tops stone.
Might work as part of a moat / castle base build.
Also would need a few more custom pieces for corners, etc.
