Very nice build Rhizom :)

Fabulous elevation, those tea lights are excellent if you can hide them. We have used them inside CBS builds and are very cool with a fogmonster.

For your missing piece we would say just slide the top dais steps back, but that is what you did
Looks pretty good to us.

That’s an excellent build!! I agree that the ledges add a certain element, it really looks old, not so “clean”. Cool LED effects!

This is a great build. Showy and functional. Love seeing so much elevation.

There are 1x2 dais pieces, they just don't have stairs. 😜

Thanks, @William and @Trollface for the hint regarding the missing piece. I did not ever cut DF pieces in half, yet, but maybe this is the first time I will really do it. Makes total sense.

Thanks, @szabbran. I am also very much looking forward to receiving my ruins. Ordered 2 packs. And since they are in Encounter 5, I really hope to get them with the first shipment, next month :-o

How big are the LED pods you are using, the color is bright for a well lit room?
This is how they look in the build:

For me they are working fine. Brightness is good, even with daylight.

Here is how they look outside of the build. With the RCU.

For the missing 1" dais pieces here's a solution

Beautiful build Rhizom, the elevation looks great. And after that discussion in the post about dungeons needing to look a little more ruined, I've really come to appreciate the DoD ledges in a way I didn't before. They give things an unfinished look that really sets a different mood for the whole dungeon, and you used them to great effect in this build. I actually just snagged a second pack of each from the web store for use in my builds, because I plan to go wild with them once the KS6 ruins get delivered.

BTW: I would out, that I am really missing a piece: I need two 1x2 dais pieces to fill this gap:
I "found out", not "would out".

(I do not edit my original post, because I fear that the pictures are deleted in that case. Happened a few times. Sorry for that...)
Very cool elevation build. 8-) 8-)
There are no 1" Dias pieces, so you might have to make two by cutting one 2" in half. I came across this same thing a month or so back. How big are the LED pods you are using, the color is bright for a well lit room?

Magic Dungeon of Mystrezz

Post by Rhizom » Sun Jul 14, 2019 1:13 pm

After we talked about DoD looking too clean in many builds (in another thread), I was really wondering if I could build something exciting with my DoD pieces. So, when I received my LED pods from RealGameFX, and wanted to play around with these LEDs, anyway, under the magic portal trapdoors from DoD, I got ambitious and tried to do a build with a lot of features: Negative space, elevation, LEDs, different shapes of rooms, and so on.

Here is the result: A little dungeon, where the player characters can eventually open a portal in the throne room of the dark elf queen Mystrezz, and beam into an otherwise unreachable treasure chamber. Unfortunately the photos cannot catch the nice effects of the LED pods under the magic portal pieces, where the light is changing colour all the time. I like the effect. And I must say, I also like the dungeon. Elevation really makes everything more exiting. Unfortunately, I did not have too much elevation in my pledge. I guess I must add a few more packs from the shop...
