Nice job on it so far. That's more of what I was thinking a rope bridge should 'look' like. Lighter or wispier...?

Is the hold up, deciding just how long to make it?
I was designing a rope only (two ropes high and low) bridge a few years ago and never could decide how long to make it, because I wanted it modular or adjustable. I sculpted a few base pieces to mount the ropes to, but I never did finish the project (sculpts are still waiting to be baked). I couldn't figure out how to do various lengths without making a variety of bridges all at different lengths.

I like the magnetic rope idea DF has come up with. If you overload the magnets with too many metal mins and they fall.

Let us see it when you wrap it up. :)
Thanks.

I did this for generic skirmish level outdoor terrain (pulp/fantasy/pirate/whatever) setting, and not really for closer quarters DF caverns, etc.

I wanted it to be long enough to span a 4"-6" waterway (creek, dry river, etc.) and still have room to place some terrain down at water level/banks.

I originally had fixed end mounts (stacked 2x4 wood blocks) but have removed those in favor of some much thinner wood plates, so I can then just lay the whole thing on any two surfaces to bridge the gap (no pun intended).

This one is pretty well engineered - I have coat hangar wire supports under the planks, that are well disguised and allow any number of figs on the bridge at one time.

Variable lengths or broken sections were never in the plan, but would be interesting to design.

To be fair we are not convinced Lizard men work with worked wood to build their bridges.

They use chopped wood and hemp rope and of course magnets!

"It's fallen because the round logs are to heavy for rope."... but it does look very cool. :)
No it has fallen because those filthy little kobolds sawed through the rope...
I had been waiting on that one (my construction peeve, sorry  ).
After looking for a picture of one, I only found plank or bundled rope for the foot pad on basic rope bridges.
Still works in a fantasy realm, so I need to get over it. And by posting this, I'm done... ;) For now...
