We were going to wait until after we see what KSVI has to offer before we jumped on the Slippery Slope that is DF resin. The catacombs look amazing but we had the belief that once in the hand, there would be a strong desire for more.....
I picked up my first resin set in 2014. The Dwarvenite stuff was nice, why not check out the resin?
I now have 60 resin sets and no room for storage.
Checking out the resin may have been a terrible mistake.
But I bet more resin would make me feel better...

Damn - and we still had time before the deadline...

I was going to include my preorder with some other stuff when the restock hit

sigh

oh well, life is long and storage space nonexistant... perhaps waiting is better

We also think/hope that KSVI will have some catacombs so happy to wait for those before the next restock/preorder.

Our will is strong........at least for now

You need a Room Of Holding....

I have one, it works wonders.
I want one...

Home Depot doesn’t appear to carry them.

Well, this wasn't a presale to determine production numbers - the order was already placed months ago and production numbers were set. Resin is time intensive, there's a limit to how many sets they can cast and paint in an allotted window. And there's a LOT of different resin sets included in this order. They likely ordered enough to fill one shipping container.

Catacombs 2 isn't a limited edition set though, you can be sure it will be reordered. With how in demand some of the sets in this resin restock are, I suspect they'll all sell through pretty quickly and another order will be placed quite soon. (But of course, resin orders always take at least 6 months and frequently longer - another part of the appeal of Dwarvenite.)

How do you sell out a pre-order?
I was wondering the exact same thing. I will say though that once I saw the Cat 2 pre-order sell out, it prompted me to immediately put in my Monster Sewers pre-order for 3 sets.

I don't know? Perhaps they had agreed that they would only make 300 sets (or something like that) to manage expectations. Interesting theory of scarcity and desire. Keep the items available, but limited, and that enhances the ongoing interest in buying once they become available again. If they are always available, you have to stock them and hope enough folks want them at any given time to buy them. All that being said, with a Pre-Order the intent is to circumvent that entire issue. Perhaps they could only get a limited number of production days allocated in time to support the preorder and had to limit it to the production capacity. Who know?
