There are many things DF could do to drive webstore sales... but they seem to focus on the KS's exclusively

In 6yrs here, the only webstore promotion that i recall was a paint sale. Thats it. No Free shipping on orders over X placed before x and such date. No free mini sampler with every order over $150. No random piece from busted sets included with ever other order (place two orders back to back and be gauranteed a free piece!). No order during the month of z and get entered to win a free something. No "Nate Nina and the crew have signed the bottoms of pieces in random cavern sets, order today and hope you get one!" Place an order for Resin and Dwarvenite and receive a free copy of the Dwarvenaut!

So many opportunites to drive sales that are missed. Yet what we hear is the KS's are better for business because other than restocks, the webstore doesn't move much inventory... We'll the best way to move stagnant inventory is to give folks a reason to order today rather than next month.

you run a chance of a random surprise of getting one added to your order.
I see how that would be cool, but at the same time it seems a shame that they might go to people without a specific interest in the pieces. After the whole discussion of negative water spaces vs. tiles during the last KS...

Long ago there were tales of "extra" pieces packed into big orders. It was a bright and warm tale but it feels like something DF has outgrown. Though perhaps some cool seasonal chase pieces would be a good idea to push buyers into the webstore!

Another thing they could do is something like Reaper does with their orders. This would be on a larger scale but would work for both DF and for buyers. If you spend X amount on a orders you run a chance of a random surprise of getting one added to your order. This would push DF orders up and make if a fun surprise for the buyers. They could stretch this out as long as they wanted to help with sales. If they go this way I would love to see a counter with the amount they have to give out and a count down to when one is given away. Sort of a DIG congrats to one luck customer on the Home page.

Whoever gets those sets will indeed be lucky.

I paid ~$500 for a lightly used River set. I don’t feel terrible about that, as it adds a lot of variety and options to resin cavern water that will never be available any other way.

(I’m assuming that the mythical “lake sets” restock does not include river sets - and if it does, and I am lucky enough to get one, well, it would be awfully nice to have two river sets.)

I wonder also.

I agree 500 to 700 is a nice price though.

I would not hold my breath waiting for 4100 for them. That was certainly an outlier auction. Others near the same time were nowhere near that much.
Concur. As I think I pointed out, the others were $5-700. That is still a high premium over what I paid for'em!

I wonder why that one auction went off the rails?

I have seveal sets...have a spare $4100 lying around???
 Ever hazard the thought of renting them out on a weekly/monthly basis?
With some form of deposit, of course. Make it a money making thing... :?:

Just thinking, because I still couldn't afford that either. ;)
My wish was to get in on some at the old price, but don't think it'll happen.
I have a funny feeling they are already gone and we are whispering in a tornado here.
