So, Oldent, tell us about the "stacks of bowls" you have on the corners of those cavern pieces (in the last photo)... those look interesting...

Are they attached to the floors or are they stand alone?
Stand alone, from Ebay

Really like the scum/water effects on your cavern floor pieces.

Puddles/scum look great.

Thank you very much.

Dice4hire's paint on moss looks very good.

I would also use flocking.

Water down your white glue to about 50%. A little flocking goes a long way.

A few leaves are also effective. Colored paper with Green stuff Word punches

Use lots of color.

Use more than one texture

Combine water effects and paint.

Build up the effects

Use ink washes

I make my own washes

Add Gloss

Grass and moss need light to grow. You will not find it in the dark.

Here are a couple simple pics. I painted these myself, and then added a bit of moss green to the crennelations pieces and some moss green and deep water green (all DF paints) in dabs to the ruin pieces.

Very simple I know, but I like the effect. I also think a moss or deep water green drybrush on sections of the tiles would look good too.

Moss/Mold/Algae on your Tiles

Post by kiltedyaksman » Mon Jul 02, 2018 5:12 pm

Can anyone please suggest with pics or links how peeps have gone about adding some moss, mold, or algae like effects on their tiles? I would like to make some simple mods to break the homogeneity of the floors and walls. Thanks!
