Re: DF's Painted Townspeople!

It's not ideal, but you could always go over a few of them yourself with a brush to add variation.

Mass produced painted minis are always going to be on the rough side.

Re: It’s late July! It’s late July!

BTW, I wasn't complaining that the shipping sets aren't the same as the first email, just pointing out the changes. Anybody reading my posts knows I have a very "it will get here whenever it gets here" attitude. Honestly, if we get anything within a year of the PM closing I'm pretty happy...CD is a ...

Re: It’s late July! It’s late July!

So it's not what was stated in the original email, which said encounters 1-6... that's only true if you got unpainted. If you ordered all painted it's only encounters 1, 3, and 5.

Re: Official PM video

Marcoreds, I think the cave cliff packs will be more useful for elevation changes in combo with mountain pieces. The banks might work at the bottom or top of a height change to smooth things out, but they only change height by a tile thickness.

Re: Official PM video

Caverns Mega Banks marks the first time that the painted set has been more than 2X the cost of unpainted... The premium for painted has been steadily rising, but lately it has jumped significantly so as to make some things unviable That's a good point. I have always bought painted; even though I am...

Re: Official PM video

I’m passing on the dog, as he’s just not worth it at that price to me personally. It’s a cool figure and the LED feature is awesome. But I just can’t have everything. I'm wrestling with the doggo a bit. I don't really need it, but it looks amazing. It might be the first non-painted piece of DF I bu...

Re: Official PM video

Yes, but how much do would you have to spend for the ones you DO want? That is more my point. Very few people get everything and I would dare to say no one gets as much as they truly want from DF, speaking of multiples of specific pieces. It is annoying when a piece I do indeed want (like said croc...

Re: Official PM video

If you don't have to obsessively have everything, chase pieces become irrelevant. I don't have a two-headed croc, but I'm not going to get one just to say I have it to make others jealous in some way. Especially when I'd never think to use a two-headed croc in my game unless I had one on the shelf t...

Re: Official PM video

I think DF really has to offer minis to some extent. Wait, what? Why, you ask? To sell the terrain pieces. If they had produced the CD sets without any miniatures, it would seem like a very sterile environment, with no life to it. But add Mercer to the Prison Passage, and Skyss-Ryssa the lizard sham...

Re: GenCon Hellscape impressions... wallet doom

On topic, the Hellscape pieces looked fantastic in person. I didn't plan on going for the light panels but after seeing them in person I might eventually pick them up. That's the kind of thing one likes to hear! Not to burst the bubble, but the prototype pieces always look better than the productio...
