Re: Marble Daises

@arsthein: Fair enough, and I see what you mean there. I certainly am new enough to DF that I couldn't begin to guess what sells better, etc. I will agree with you though that in general, more options are always better from a customer standpoint -- although I am having a really tough time figuring o...

Re: Best $1500 KS newbie purchase

skobner - be careful - it is VERY early to start compromising your budget... you will, we all do - but there is a LOT more coming the longer you hold on, the better it will feel when you finally cut the purse strings and pour your gold out on the counter Hah! I compromised my budget the moment I hi...

Re: A place to discuss the wonder of it all!

Or a jail break built by characters in a secret fashion like "Escape from Alcatraz". Many uses other than just critters burrows. ;) That would imply that my players would ever try something other than "Kill all the guards!" :) Seriously though, that's a good point. Someday they ...

Re: A place to discuss the wonder of it all!

I will say that my initial viewing of the pictures of the burrows made me skeptical as to the ability to see the "squares" on the pieces. However, after seeing a closer shot in the live stream, I do think that they are feasible, though I would probably give the roots a bit more contrast to...

Re: I want more of...

I want more elevation pieces (i.e. stair jacks, elevation pedestals or whatever they called, etc.). When I first saw Acid Bath, my thought was "Ehh, kinda cool, but an easy pass on my budget." Then I realized how much elevation it brought and suddenly, it was "Huh, intriguing." :)

Re: Marble Daises

@arsthein. I imagine the issue about them being limited production has to do with projected sales (which is always a tough question to answer). I'm sure you're already aware of this, but as I understand the process, they can't really do a "small batch" economically. When they do a producti...

Re: KS5 Advanced Passage pieces

Thanks for this write up. As a newbie to DF this is really helpful! For me, in general I would prefer to go with the misaligned walls rather than misaligned floors if I don't have enough of the pandora box pieces. At least in the misaligned wall example you showed, it still creates a solid barrier o...

Re: Pledging Stategies. Read at your own peril.

If my reading of the Pledge Manager is correct, you can go to your current pledge and "manage it" by adding additional money (as opposed to selecting the next highest dungeon tier). Then when Pledge Manager opens, you select how that money is spent. So, you could add up to the cost of Dung...

Re: Going back and forth between painted and unpainted

First question you have to ask yourself is: Are you actually going to take the time to paint the stuff yourself? If the answer is no, then you should go with painted. If the answer is yes, then you need to decide what your budget is and then look at what you can get unpainted vs. Painted. If you fee...

Re: Suggestion: add dungeon level zero

+1 to Starter Set. It is kind of in the title. A nice little dip. Real Newbies don't spend $200-250. Until the next Kickstarter =) Right, but I think the OP's point was that the Starter Dungeon is pretty easy to "lose" in all the noise on the campaign page. That said, I do think that Zalt...
