Re: Thoughts on the secondary environment?
And quite a lot of whatever they could consider doing with Castles as a secondary "biome" should also be able to stand on its own as part of a city build as well. Fortified manor house or part of a larger castle for example. The other direction would be more of a rural civilization theme t...

Kickstarter for Heraldic Waterslide Decals for Wargaming
I backed one of this guy's other KS a while back and they came thru with some nice terrain as shown in the KS. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/steepledhatstudios/iron-age-farmstead-28mm-miniature-wargaming-terrai/description Now they have another one just launched for some heraldic decals that ...

Re: Swampiness
You will want some level of color contrast between the "water level" of the swamp and the islands of land in the swamp. Unless it is a green that is meant to be swamp like your best bets would be something blue or brown (like the table top, which would be the simplest solution). I was play...

Re: 12 Builds of December Discord Challenge
Those are really cool. Getting a strong Donkey Kong vibe off the series of floors in that vertical slice build. The couple of pictures of the forts near the end of the post are nice but also show the limits of the current tile mix to make anything that is not orthogonal in nature. Please DF consider...

Re: Tree Types?
Beech are less common in New England but still around. The beech leaf would be a good guess however. I cropped a few shots of the dropped leaves on some of the tiles (these are ones I painted, since I tried to dab paint on leaves more consistently than the factory, but also tried to not always paint...

Re: Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas Everyone!!! (psss... the shop has a wishlist now and I am overjoyed!!!) Nice catch, DF should really promote stuff like that when they add features to the shop. Would make it easy for someone to spend an afternoon making a bunch of choices and then be able to check their list to see...

Re: Tree Types?
I have seen a variety, but a lot of them look more like Birch leaves to me. Birch.jpg Clearly some are maple Maple leaves.jpg and some could be oak oak-leaves.jpg The trees themselves tend to have bark that would be more like Oak species and not BNirch or maple which tend to be rather smooth and fra...

Re: Merry Christmas
That is a wicked clever way to create some temporary snow cover for the trees. Love the effect and how quick it would be to incorporate. Nice.

Re: The Answer - Dwarven Forge Painting Patreon
The real sweet spot for me is having painting tutorials that are focused on what colors/mixes to use to most closely match what you might get from the factory so that any unpainted tiles you paint will not clash with any painted ones you pick up from the store or other locations. Matching the paint ...
