Re: Storing your Dwarven Forge

I've offered my basement as a storage solution to a number of people. So far, no one has taken me up on it. Pity.

Re: First Character

A friend owned a blue box set. There were two of us, so my first "character" was actually a party of six. Of whom, there was: Shargun (a fighter), Kandalf (a magic user), Radar (a cleric -- I heard "clerk"), an elf, a dwarf, and a thief (but I can't remember the names). We left f...

Re: We Need a Boats Kickstarter!

I was also in for the trees. Since I don't have a lot of other trees (and none that I like) I feel like I can put these out all the time -- whether or not there is anything hiding in them. I like the option of having miniatures in the treetops. That said, if DF were to do a similar design (set of di...

As I recall sitting emphasizes the bustle significantly. Apropos of nothing, it also makes it impossible for the woman wearing one to sit on most modern chairs.

Re: When did the fever set in?

My FLGS gives out $10 coupons when you buy $100 (can split over many purchases in $10 increments). When we (my wife and I both play and collect) started going there we'd hoard those coupons and use them on DF resin sets. That was the beginning. And it lasted for several sets. Then came the switch to...

Re: Poll: Dwarven Forge Collection Size

My KS5 pledge will put me into the next tier. I'm not close to the border without it. So, do we respond with how much we can put on the table today? Or, how much we've spent?

Re: Demographics

We were playing out of a blue box when I got started. Then I bought this thing called The Monster Manual , didn't even realize that it was for a different version of the game until I got it home. A move later and the new group was playing out of a black and green box -- and I'm still a GURPS guy at ...

I don’t disagree with that sentiment.

Motorized Gatehouse

The kids had some friends over last night and somehow the chain in my motorized gatehouse got disconnected from the shaft that it coils over. Worse, there appears to be a break on the surface of that piece. Could someone who has one please take a picture of the shaft at the point where the chain is ...

Re: How would you defend against a Dragon

Sadly, in my campaign, dragons are a literal pestilence upon the earth. They exude a miasma that is lethal to all but the hardiest of plants and animals. Big enough that it is a really bad idea to try to approach their nests. Having one sit atop your city would rapidly depopulate the neighborhood. P...
