Re: When do you decide to get rid of something in your collection?
I actually wrote a book on this. In Discardia: More Life, Less Stuff , I said: “In my experience, the payoff for getting rid of 100% of the stuff for which you don't have a plan and don't wildly love is still worth it, even when you come up with a use for a small percentage of it later. Getting 90% ...

Re: Storage Redux - The Storening
I kind of love the idea of a game room decked out like a low-tech fantasy building or ship's hold with lots of appropriate leather or rough cloth bags slung on hooks high up along the top of the walls. Billhook just leaning in the corner, like ya do...

Re: What I like about swamps
Hadn't thought about it this way. Cool! Different build themes really can have very different moods. Are there build genres? And do they call for different playlists?

Re: Storage Redux - The Storening
Thanks so much for the kind words, Law! I really feel for your challenge having things off-site. I wonder if it might work to have a 'staging and restock area' at your storage with room to place transport bins that are deep enough for a level or two of a building? Then you could have some of the bui...

New GM tips post: Organizing My Terrain Collection
Storage is an evergreen topic, right?
The arrival of my Wildlands pledge prompted a long-planned re-organization of my terrain and minis storage. I've written up the principles I used and some tips here: https://ourmagic.info/2022/04/18/organi ... ollection/

Re: 4Ground going out of business sale
Thanks for reporting back on that. I'm being patient, but it's reassuring to know since my order didn't go in until 3/29.

Re: Starting a collection of Hero Forge 3D color printed minis
My situation is unusual. I am establishing a new set of peoples (what some might call races) for my original game in development. I'll be using these minis not only in my games but in dioramas I'll photograph to illustrate blog posts about the game and the world. So, I can't just buy existing minis ...

Nice! I broke out my DF doors and stalagmites, along with treasure chests and some other topical scatter for Gloomhaven. Definitely made things more fun.

Re: Should DF send backers a working mat storage tube
I highly recommend storing these mats and indeed all mats you can (e.g. Paizo battlemats) in an artist's portfolio. Super easy to get things in and out, keeps them safe and dust free...and flat. I got this one on Amazon four years ago, but there are plenty of 'em out there: https://smile.amazon.com/...

Re: Starting a collection of Hero Forge 3D color printed minis
$59.99 because XL* in size (Bakani run about 7 feet tall), but $5 off that because I used one of the frequent coupons. So, pretty much comparable to buying a mini and paying someone to paint it, except I got to design the mini and the paint can't wear off. Thanks, arsthein, but all credit on the pho...
