personally I would get the color you want in liquid form at a 1:7 ratio of water to paint and coat it a couple of times. Drybrush a lighter green/white and give it another wash.

I liked this one as a Witch's hut.
Give it a dark blue dry brush to give it a magic feel. Add some green moss flock in the crevices. Darken the thatch on the roof a bit
