My review of the sci-fi starter set

<t>I think you're probably right -- for skirmish battles, you wouldn't need much, but for roleplaying you'd definitely want a sense that the world is full of "stuff."<br/> <br/> I was thinking purely aesthetically. Show someone a dungeon in Master Maze, and they might not be as impressed if you didn...

My review of the sci-fi starter set

<t>A few things to add that I hadn't noticed before:<br/> <br/> 1. The doors are no longer higher than the walls, which means you can lay floors right on top of them when you stack levels. It looks GREAT.<br/> <br/> 2. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to me that the sci-fi stuff doesn't require accesso...

Sets

<t>My guess would be $50 again. Seems like nothing is really going to be less than that, and if you compare to the passage set, it seems that this expansion includes about as much.<br/> <br/> In general, I like the fact that DF is making smaller sets for less, so you can buy two for the old price an...

Sci-Fi Poll

<t>Well, I don't know about EASY, but I'd definitely say it looks cool. The design on the sides of the floor pieces is cool, and it makes it look good when you just put individual floor pieces directly on other floor pieces. You can make interesting multi-level rooms that are all on one "floor" that...

Sets

<t>Woo-hoo! That's what I'm talking about!<br/> <br/> Those look great. Off the top of my head, here are some thoughts:<br/> <br/> 1. First, I noticed last night that the new sci-fi stuff stacks a lot better than the dungeon stuff. The dungeon floor pieces don't look right if you pile them up -- but...

Sci-Fi Poll

<t>Trying to stir some discussion here -- what kinds of things would people like to see in the sci-fi sets for the future?<br/> <br/> To clarify the poll options:<br/> <br/> 1) "More basic pieces" means more things that will make pretty much what we already can, but easier. A few floor pieces that a...

Hellloooo out there!

<t>Hmmm.. What's the dilly, yo? Or words to that effect.<br/> <br/> It seemed like a lot of us were excited about the arrival of sci-fi sets, but they've been out for a month or so, or something like that, and it doesn't seem to have prompted a great deal of discussion. I think I was the first to po...

My review of the sci-fi starter set

<r>So I found the new sci-fi sets at my local gaming place today. I was putting off ordering them online, largely coz I couldn't get the site to work and I kept forgetting to just try calling direct, and then today it all became moot. There they was!<br/> <br/> I picked up the starter set, passed on...

Coliseum?

<t>I think you've pretty much nailed it, Dante. I agree that this is for "serious gamers" only. No reason for anyone to be offended by that way of putting it, as I see it. If you can spend the money on a piece of fixed scenery like that, you're a pretty serious gamer.<br/> <br/> For me, the chief pr...

Sci-fi still on schedule?

I started a new thread for this coz I wanted it nice and obvious and standing out. It's almost mid-June. I just want to make sure that we have a two-week wait on our hands, and not a two month one. Is it on?

Please let it be on!

;)
