Frankly, I will probably get just the docks - especially with the 2nd dock s.g. - as it has much more play value in my games.

Not sure inflation is to blame. Mainly i think is the higher amount of unique pieces so much higher production cost per piece. And of course complexity.
But in the end it is much cheaper to produce 100 each of 10 pieces than 10 each of 100 pieces.
