Question for Starting Out
Architech, I would suggest four things to a new collector who wishes to avoid unnecessary expenses. 1) Initially avoid purchasing multiples of any given set until you have had an opportunity to actually work with some of them, to determine what pieces you are lacking. The cavern and room sets are pe...

New Stock?
Thanks again Stefan, I always appreciate the feedback. Would it be possible for DF to announce in the "news" that the starter (and in fact all ) of the Sci-Fi sets are currently in stock? Admittedly the Alpha numbers are starting to dwindle, but there would need to be fair amount of sales ...

CAVERN PASSAGE SETS NEEDED AND WHICH OTHER SETS ARE ALSO A MUST?
<t>Personally, I would suggest only one cavernous passage set.

As the above-mentioned set does not comply within the DF standard (2"x2", 4"x4" or 6"x6") footprints I find that they tend to consume a considerable amount of table space as compared with other sets.

As a result I ...

New Stock?
Jeff, Stefan I just wanted to say thanks for restocking the Sci-Fi Starter sets . My 10 sets should be arriving any day now. BTW, If sales for the Sci-Fi line pick up at all (due to the starter re-stock), is there any possibilty of another set? Perhaps one with a couple of 6" walls a few extra ...

Cavern Floor Pieces
<t>purgatory,

Until/before you are able to acquire any extra floor pieces you may want to consider a cavernous chasm set.

Although it is no replacement for the needed 4x4 floor pieces that you need, you may find it a really interesting (and interim) alternative that can expand ...

WHAT TO MAKE FOR WICKED 3 FANTASY SET?
Stefan, My preference would be for (although not limited to) the following: Doors, (double, iron and stone/magical). Gothic windows A few barred, prison pieces A MM 2" tunnel passage piece with a lever on the wall A single, small/thin (one-sided) drawbridge , the type that would be found along ...

Sci-Fi starter set?
According the present listing in the DF online store, the Sci-Fi Starter set is listed as being in stock Sept. 09 . Presumably this would mean September 2009. Although I haven't heard of any official DF updates regarding a specific arrival date, presumably they should be arriving in the near future ...
